Copied from elsewhere...I don't have the ability (or desire to pay) to check the source...
This is part of today's offering from Max Baxendell (Bucknuts). His regular column is referred to as "The Bucket".
The denial in Ann Arbor that the NCAA banhammer is coming continues to amaze me. Jim Harbaugh officially departed this week to Los Angeles and the NFL, the move he's been trying to make for three years now.
I'm still flummoxed that their grand scheme of denying, continuing to cheat and obfuscating until after the national title game worked out for them. But there was no question in my mind that in all scenarios, Jim Harbaugh would not be back in 2024 as their head coach.
Look, the guy was an abject failure as their coach in 2020. He had lost five games to Ohio State, he wimped out of the 2020 game where they would have lost by five touchdowns at a minimum and pled COVID. They cut his salary in half because both sides of the Harbaugh Michigan relationship didn't really want to be in it, but neither saw a better option personally at the time.
So enter the cheating scheme. Jim Harbaugh's entire goal in 2021 was to beat Ohio State and regain enough credibility in his reputation to jump straight to an NFL job. In fact, he literally was interviewing with the Minnesota Vikings on National signing day after that season!
Problem is the NFL didn't want him. He legitimately thought he was leaving and the Vikings went a different direction.
So despite mediocre recruiting, Jimmy came back and in 2022 really leaned into that cheating scheme, leading to the 2022 Ohio State versus Michigan game as the most tainted rivalry game of our lifetimes.
Yet the NFL still didn't want him. He was too weird, there were too many people wary of his behavior in San Francisco, despite a good record and a Super Bowl appearance.
He knew they were going to get busted eventually for this cheating scheme, but he kept doing it anyways. While they kept cheating, they kept winning and they kept winning enough in a year where there was not a super elite team anywhere else to be the favorites for the national championship.
Sure, they got busted midway through the season but all they did was fire Connor Stalions. How much of that multiple years of cheating put them into a better pre-scout and more importantly, a better roster?
Jim Harbaugh cheated as much as often as he could and he got paid off for it. Now he's running off to the NFL like everybody but the Michigan fans expected.
Sherrone Moore being the replacement coach there only makes sense if you're living in the blue bubble. They're hiring a guy that they think is going to just continue what Harbaugh did, when the reality is that he's going to be in as much NCAA trouble as Jesse Minter, who went to LA with Harbaugh. Connor Stalions was whispering in his ear just as much as he was Minter.
So when the NCAA finds officially that there was widespread sign stealing, the new Michigan head coach is just as likely to look at a show cause penalty as the one that just scurried off to Los Angeles!
For all the Wolverines lurking reading this article, it's a slam dunk. There's myriad video showing him telling them to change calls over multiple years. Your new head coach is going to have major personal sanctions on him. Just like your program is going to get smashed with major sanctions.
The NCAA claims that they don't like to do bowl bands because they think it hurts the kids, but JJ McCarthy already admitted that everyone in the Michigan program knew, including the players.
Long story short here is that the Michigan steroid fueled supernova of success over the last couple years is over. It was over the moment the national title game ended. I don't care what Charlie Baker says, there are more than enough people that know exactly what happened the last 3 years in Ann Arbor.
Michigan cheated. And they are going to pay for it for the next decade. Including vacating that national title that they probably shouldn't have been allowed to play for in the first place.

Everything in that article is spot on except the last part. The Playoff Committee made a decision to allow a cheating program to play for their national championship, knowing they had already been caught. No way they take the title* away. The victories leading up to it will be gone and everyone knows the title* is bogus but Michigan will still hang a banner for it. Pretty pathetic but we've come to expect that from them, haven't we?

BSPiN's committee does as corporate directs them (IMHO)...didn't realize how much pull Rich Eisen had with the 'Big Guys.'

Congratulations to Randy Gradishar___Another Buckeye in the Hall of Fame!!
Here's a look at the modern era and senior inductees who will receive their bronze busts and gold jackets this summer.
Dwight Freeney, LB -- Freeney's devastating spin move led to 125.5 career sacks and a Super Bowl ring with the 2006 Colts. Andre Johnson, WR -- The greatest offensive player in Texans history, Johnson was named to seven Pro Bowls and led the NFL in receiving on two occasions. Devin Hester, returner -- Arguably the greatest returner in NFL history, Hester is now enshrined in Canton after returning 20 kick/punt returns for touchdowns during his 11-year career. He is also the only player to return the opening kickoff of a Super Bowl for a touchdown, as he did so for the Bears in Super Bowl XLI. Randy Gradishar, LB -- He led the Broncos' famed "Orange Crush" defense that spearheaded the Broncos' first AFC championship in 1977. A complete linebacker, Gradishar won Defensive Player of the Year the following season after recording three interceptions, three sacks and four fumble recoveries. Patrick Willis, LB -- Willis packed a lot into an eight-year career. He was a seven-time Pro Bowler, five-time All-Pro and is a member of the Hall of Fame All-2000s Team. Steve McMichael, DT -- He played in a whopping 227 games (including a franchise-record 191 games with the Bears) and was an integral part of a Bears defense that led Chicago to the franchise's first Super Bowl win at the end of the 1985 season. His 95 career sacks rank fourth all-time for defensive tackles, and he led the Bears in sacks seven times. Julius Peppers, DE -- Peppers has the distinction of being named to two Hall of Fame All-Decade teams after terrorizing opposing quarterbacks from 2002-2018.
