... Back to back for the first time since '68-'69 w a 7-3 win tonite.4-1 vs ny this year w 2 games to play. Carlos carrasco was magnificent again. 1 run on 5 hits in 7 innings. 11 k's. 12th win of the season. I was ready to pack it in when the Indians went just 2-4 to start this road trip in Minnesota and Boston. But 2 wins in the Bronx are keeping me watching. 6 games out of the 2nd wildcard w 5 teams still to jump is an improvement from when the month began, but they need to be 3 games out and near .500 going into sept. 57-64 now.

They got to get to .500 to be 3 games out for that 2nd WC. With a loss today, they are eight games under .500. I dont believe they can do it though the Tribe has had some strong finishes since Tito arrived

When he finally got the call up in mid June, he batted .211 his first 15 games. July? .295 w 4 hrs and 11 runs scored. So far in August? .346 w 12 runs scored and a game winning dinger in the Bronx today to give the tribe 3 wins in nyc this wknd. Now batting .292 for the season w 6 hr's, 26 rbi's and 27 runs in 60 games And he's looked very smooth in the field w a strong arm. Nice.

FL has impressed me as of late and its nice that a homer to right field in Yankee stadium is 314ft.

6-2 win tonite for a 2 game sweep of Milwaukee. Tribe has won 6 of 7 at home, by far the best stretch of the season at progressive field. 5 games out of the wildcard w 5 teams to jump. Inching closer... Can they get within 3 after this wknd?

startin to come together, pepper, we're startin to come together. i said 3 games out by the end of august and we had a shot, right? so good to see bauer looking like he's getting back on track. w/this staff, if we can just sneak in... the arms are good enough this year to make some history. they really are. still 4 or 5 more teams to jump, but that's less than the 8 they had when august started. need to take at least 2 out of 3 this wknd... i think we're a contender right now.

The arms are good but even better if Carrasco comes back off the DL in 10 days and resumes his great season__Agree the Tribe can make noise in the post season and like they are under the radar right now

Gomes just went grand salami in the 8th, after Santana doubled home a run. Tribe goes from 3-3 to 8-3 vs the Angels. I'm telling ya... Indian fever, be a believer.

The twins (6 games left with them, all in the last 10 days of the season) are one of the team's between Cleveland and that last wildcard spot, so that helps. But no games vs Texas, Baltimore (who's slumping big time) and Tampa (who's not playing well either). Plus 7 games next month will be vs the royals, who are the best team in he American League this year. Still some hurdles to leap, but they've got a shot.

I think the addition of lindor and almonte, from a personality standpoint , has really helped this team. I love the upbeat way they play, and it mixes well with the steadiness of guys like Brantley, kipnis, kluber, et al.

The tribe will get Carrasco back around Labor day off the DL so they should be at full strength___Of course I'll be in buckeye mode on Labor Day <g>
