...again. 2-0.
Maddon's gimmicky approach seems to have failed him these first two games. Imagine that.

Oh, gotcha. No, not at all. While I hope the Rays do well and go to games when I can, I am a Mets fan. I have just never liked Maddon and never will. Don't like his personality, his approach or his high school gimmicks to try to motivate his teams.

I know a lot of Rays fans were really pissed when he left, so I figured you must be a Rays fan. Yall yankees are hard to keep track of who you root for.<g>

I know a lot of Rays fans were really pissed when he left, so I figured you must be a Rays fan. Yall yankees are hard to keep track of who you root for.<g> When I moved to the Tampa area, there was no home team to root for and other than the NBC national game on Saturday, the only regular season baseball I got to see was on TBS, WGN or WOR. I did go to a lot of high school games back then and got to see some kid they would eventually call Doctor K. When he made his way to NY, I gravitated that way as well and became a Mets fan since that was one of the three teams I saw the most. They also trained in St. Pete until '87 so I saw a lot of them during the Spring. Two years after Gooden joined the Mets that magical year of'86 kind of cemented my love for the team and the rest is history, I guess. Like I said, I do root for the Rays and was even at their very first game against the Tigers but for the reasons mentioned above, I could never get behind Maddon. He just rubs me the wrong way, a lot like Tressel used to, I guess.

Yep, use to be that way when I was a kid. My uncle in Kissimmee was a Twins fan because they trained in Orlando at Tinker Field. Lot of folks went for the closest team to spring train near them or had family connections up north. The other half were Braves fans. ;-)

Cubs will win the next three. Possible but not likely as the Mets will have deGrom and Harvey pitching two of those games. If the Cubs can take two of three in Chicago, they will have done well I think.

Murphy has gone Bertran on us with a HR in his fifth straight game. And it's not like he is hitting them off of chump relievers. He homered against Kershaw, Grienke, Lester, (likely Cy Young-winner) Arrieta and now Kendricks.
Pretty amazing and fortuitous timing as he will hit the FA market this winter.

not as surprised the metropolitans won as i am the way that they did. dominant. since it's a good bet kc wins the al, you have the hottest team in baseball (nym) coming in vs the team w/probably the best overall talent (royals). that will be fun to watch. and what the hell is up w/murphy? ?? unreal.
