I loaded it a month ago. My browser suddenly wouldn't support videos, I couldn't access my emails, I lost half my phone book, etc. Took a week to get things worked out. Still can't run videos off anything other than you tube. I'm thinking about paying the Geek Squad to take it off and put Vista back on. Never had an issue with that.

We've never played the computer/phone upgrade game/money waste. Our 10 year old computer still runs on Windows Vista Home Premium and does just fine thank you very much.

Yeah, well wait until your computer bites it like mine has. All at once I can't run CAD, I can do anything. Bought a new computer on Monday and it's been living hell ever since. My productivity is at about 20%, I'm missing deadlines, work sucks...life sucks. Like I said....somebody at Microsoft is going down, though I'm guessing the lead software engineer is already in a witness protection program. |

i'm surprised y'all are talking about 8...wait till you get to 10. I imagine it's great if you do a lot of stuff on your phone or portable device...it's set up as 'aps' instead of 'programs' and it takes some getting used to.

Or, fix whatever went wrong with your older computer. I couldn't agree more about the awfulness of win 8. I recently bought a mini-pad computer that came with 8.1, and I'm still trying to figure out what it might be good for. |

A little too light to be a boat anchor. |

Had I planned the switch and known about 8, I probably would have done that, and I still may if I find time, but I just had to keep rolling, so it was a case of dancin' with who brung ya as quick as possible, right out of the box. Just ran into another fun issue. I plugged the phone into the USB to download some jobsite pics, the computer notices it and asks if I want to download the photos in the phone. I say yes. It downloads them and displays them in small image format. I click on an image...won't open. I click on the "Pictures" file that is pre-set up on the 8 start screen. I get a message, "This file is empty". Click the "download" file....no photos. Close those to get back to the display of the small image format list, it's gone....No idea where it went or where the photos went. |
