It's easy to make yourself. Fred does it all the time. What's his name used to do it with 2 box fans and the fiberglass air filters used for heating systems. A bit crazy and I'm not so sure very healthy. I prefer a store bought dehydrator.

It's easy to make yourself. Fred does it all the time. What's his name used to do it with 2 box fans and the fiberglass air filters used for heating systems. A bit crazy and I'm not so sure very healthy. I prefer a store bought dehydrator. Ewww no! The regular paper cold air return filters that go in the ceiling are the ticket. I'm afraid if we got a nice dehydrator it would get about as much use as the really nice juicer Fred bought years ago that has never been used.

I'm afraid if we got a nice dehydrator it would get about as much use as the really nice juicer Fred bought years ago that has never been used. I used to have one, and got rid of it. But with the high humidity here (it's 29 outside and 60% humidity indoors yet), I have no choice but to get another one. I like to buy fresh dill,basil and cilantro. I used to hang that throughout the kitchen in August in NY, but here they do not dry as well.

My stupid cousin Eugene bought a jerky gun last fall before deer season. He couldn't figure out where to load the bullets so he gave me the gun. I'm going to get out the sausage grinder and make some jerky gun jerky from a recipe a deer huntin' buddy uses. I'll let you all know how it turns out this weekend.
