Great effort by Tomlin gets wasted tonite. Gave up 1 run in 7 innings but shaw gives up a 2 run HR to Perez in the 8th, and the Indians strand 2 runners in the 9th to lose 3-2 after losing 2-1 last nite. Didn't see any of that but caught most of Tonite's game. Good game. Lead down to 1 game.

KC/Tribe in reverse roles from last week. Still like to bring up TJ House.

Been an exciting couple of games for sure. I was worried all night last night, knowing that Herrera and Davis were not available. Good to see the Mexicutioner do his job and get the win. There was a time, before his second TJ surgery, I'd have taken Soria in that situation over anyone in the game. He is still proving to be pretty good, but he isn't that damn near perfect, go to the bathroom when he comes in because nothing is going to happen with him on the mound good anymore. KC has some interesting decisions coming. Brett Eibner is eligible to come of the DL tomorrow. He was brought up and was hitting over .400, granted it was just a few games, but he looked damn good at the plate before he sprained an ankle. Ray Fuentes came up to replace Eibner and he has been getting a couple of hits a game and also playing great defense. BTW, he is Carlos Beltrans cousin. The obvious solution to KC fans is to cut Omar Infante when Eibner comes back. Whit the hit Merrifield can play all infield and outfield positions, so that offers quite a bit of flexibility and Christian Colon is now better than Infante by quite a margin. But will KC be willing to eat the approximate 12 million they still owe Infante? Once that is settled, in another week or so Alex Gordon should be ready to return. At that point somebody who has been playing very well as a fill in is going to wind up going back to Omaha. Probably make Omaha fans happy as with all the AAA players called up in the last month they have not won a game in a few weeks.
BTW, local kid makes good. Jamison Tailon made his first start for the Pittsburg Pirates last week, against the Mets, and threw well. He went six innings and gave up three runs but no decision. He was sent down and then recalled due to injury and threw eight innings last night with only two hits and no runs to get his first ML win.. He was the first overall selection in the June baseball draft about four years ago. Why do I care? He was born in Winter Haven, while I was coaching his older brother Jordon in an 8 year old pitching machine league in Winter Haven. Jordon and my twins were best friends and remains good friends today. The family moved to Texas when he was in the sixth grade and I only remember Jamison as a baby, but still, kind of cool to have a connection to someone like this.

Well as I write this the Tribe is 2 outs from getting swept by the royals, down 9-4. Kluber gave up 2 in the first but Indians tied it at 2 entering the 5th. Looked like Cory would get out of trouble again but a wild pitch lets in 1 run and Perez smacks a 3 run dinger that was a dagger.
9-4 final. All tied up in the central.

Could be back and forth like this all year. You see KC did DFA Infante today. Didn't take long. I believe we are stronger with Whit and Colon playing 2nd, although Whit can play everywhere but Pitcher and catcher. And Gordon hit live today and they said he was crushing the ball. All in all, about to get healthy as well as younger. Starting pitching has been solid this last time through the rotstion. Brought Bryan Flynn up today, I suspect to take Venturas start during g his suspension. They have been stretching him out at Omaha so it wouldn't surprise me if he replaces Chris Young in the rotation. But then again, Kris Medlen threw his first rehab start in AA tonight and could be back soon

Wouldn't surprise me at all. We have played the Sox a couple of series recently and they just seem to be snake bitter against the Royals. They blew a six run lead in the 9th inning in one game. I'd like to combine the Indians and Royals, take your starting pitching with our bullpen and then mix and match the best starters through the line up. I'm thinking that could be a hell of a team. <g>
