The 14 game winning streak may come to an end, but how about 35 year old Rajai Davis hitting for the cycle (and in reverse order (HR, Triple, Double, Single) ___That's impressive

Congratulations to my Indian fan friends. I remember in 1977, I was a senior in grad school in KC and that summer KC won 102 games and had a 16 game win streak to start September. What amazed me was when they did finally lose, it was the ace of the staff, Dennis Leonard who won something like 22 games that year, who took the loss. Baseball is a great game and it's even more fun to watch when you team is playing like that.

They scrapped but it does show weakness or middle relief still is a little shaky or that it's proving to be during this win streak. Here's to hoping that Kluber starts a new one today

I hope he didn't take the loss yesterday too hard. I'm sure ESPN covered the end of the streak too much, thus demonstrating their hatred of Cleveland. <g> That 77 KC team shocked me when they lost in the playoffs. Won 102 games that year. If I remember correctly, that was the year they had the lead in the 9th inning of game 5, which was the final game back then, and Whitey Herzog decided to bring in Leonard, his top starter, to close them out in the 9th instead of sticking with his outstanding closer all year, Mark Littel. Leonard was pitching on a couple of days rest and had never relieved before and blew the save, and, of course, Littel came in after him and completely shut them down, but it was too late. Don't know if KC can catch the Indians this year, or even make the playoffs. For some reason after being one of the best road teams in baseball last year they are one of the worst on the road this year. Still have the best home record I believe. Earlier Morales was killing us with hitting under .200 at the DH, but he has been on fire for the last four weeks and has raised his average up near .270 and is up to 14 HR's, unless he has already homered today. Still, just don't think the starting pitching is quite good enough and we do miss Greg Holland in the pen.

Funny how often that happens when a long streak ends.
