w/matthew stormin up the coast, the biggest question seems to be, is it panic time? well dammit, when it comes to douche picks, it's not panic time yet, but i can see the second hand moving... Texas +10 1/2 v. Oklahoma: the fact that this game is being played at 11 am local time just goes to show you that tv truly rules our lives, and it's not always a good thing. ou bounced back nicely last week at tcu, but has struggled 3 straight yrs vs the horns. meanwhile, charlie strong has taken over the defense after demoting his coord for all'g 146 pts to 3 power 5 opponents so far this year. hint... coaching is not the issue. plus the top 2 rb's for texas are dinged up. oklahoma. loss. ou gets a fg to go up 11 w/2:30 left, then lets the horns go 70 yards for a td in 0:50. jeez.LSU -3 @ UF: so lsu says we'll host you this week. uf says no. uf says come to gainesville in november. lsu says no. the sec says oooooohhhhhh. cfb fans say 'you just made the list'.... of idiots who can't come to terms and end up forcing everyone, most importantly their players, to suffer. no winner. Virginia Tech +2 1/2 @ North Carolina: huge game in the acc w/the winner taking the inside track on the coastal division. does anyone realize that unc has won 15 of its last 16 games in the regular season? qb trubisky is having an incredible season (76% completions, 13 td's, no picks), but this week he faces one of this year's best pass d's to date. plus va tech is pretty good away from home (5-2 as road dog, 8-4 su on acc road). plus the hokies are off a bye, w/unc on the heels of the fsu miracle win and has miami up next. home teams off beating the noles are just 12-20 ats. can you say sandwich alert? virginia tech win. hokies looked very good.Tennessee +7 @ TAMU: hard not to see the vols as this year's team of destiny, w/3 comeback wins already. with hurd hurt for tennessee, a lot of $$ is flowing to the aggies, who run the ball well. for the 3rd straight yr, a&m is 5-0. the last 2 years they've gone a combined 6-10 after that start. plus they're a poor (2-5 ats) home fave vs quality sec foes (aggies as -8/less). plus the aggies are 4-10-1 ats as sec chalk, while the vols have gone 4-0-1 as sec dogs lately. tennessee. push. if the aggies had just made that fg at the end of regulation...Colorado +5 @ USC: in the 5 years cu has been in the pac 12, usc has been on average -23 in their matchups. now it's just -5. kudos to the buffs who are much improved on both sides of the ball. but the trojans got up off the deck w/an impressive win vs asu, while colorado is on the road for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. loss. down 7 w/4:00 left on the usc 25, buffs choose to go for 3 instead of trying for a td? they never got the ball back. serves them right, but served me wrongAlabama -14 @ Arkansas: no doubt who the better team is here... tide has won all 9 in the series since '07. plus the hogs are struggling to run and stop the run; not exactly a recipe for success vs alabama. qb allen though is tossing it all over the field, and the razorbacks are great home dogs (7-0 off a 10+ win, 9-3-1 ats as sec dogs) while saban is 1-4 ats lately giving 10+ on the sec road, 8-12 ats away overall. plus a trip to knoxville is on the horizon. like last year, i'm thinking a backdoor cover. arkansas. those defensive scores can really wreck you against the spread... hogs inside the 10 and the tide gets a 107 yard pick 6.Washington -8 1/2 @ Oregon: it's been 13 years since uw knocked off the hated ducks. huskies are off a thorough spanking of stanford, while uo looked very un-nike-like, especially on defense, in losing at washington state by nearly 3 td's, making it 3 straight losses for the first time since '07. another first... oregon hasn't been a home dog since '09, when they beat both usc and cal getting points. cfb nerd stat #1; uw is 0-11 ats playing w/revenge off a 10+ ats win. oregon. loss. it's official. the ducks suck, and plenty of pac 12 teams are lining up for pay back on uo running up scores the last decade or soFlorida State +3 @ Miami: canes out of the gate strong (4-0) for only the 2nd time in over a decade. they've also lost the last 6 to the noles and are smelling blood. fsu meanwhile is seeking some '16 karma after that unc heartbreak loss. i'm a fan of both kaaya and richt, but miami's sos is horrible (112th) and they're the only top 10 team who doesn't own a win over a ranked team. canes do have a really good defense, going up vs a pretty good fsu offense. florida state. win. fun, intense game, as it usually is. blocking an xp in the last 1:30 doesn't happen to often to clinch a winMaryland -1 @ Penn State: nice 4-0 start for the terps, while psu is off a 29-26 ot escape vs minnesota. barkley is one of the best rb's in the big 10, maryland's win's have come vs howard, fiu, ucf and purdue. murderer's row it ain't. plus home dogs off an ot win are 48-34-2 ats the last 30+ years. penn state. win. barkley is good.Indiana +29 @ Ohio State: iu's ot win over sparty last week was it's first vs a ranked team since '06. plus they've covered the last 5 vs the bucks (tho losing 21 straight in the series). last 5 times osu has been -25/more at home vs a big 10 opponent, the opponent has covered. plus the badgers are on the horizon. hoosiers are just 6-12 as road dogs... not as good passing, much better on defense. not as good tho as osu has been this year. shaky nod to ohio state. loss. and i deserved it.Texas Tech +7 1/2 @ Kansas State: back up qb nic shimonek came off the bench and tech didn't miss a beat in winning/covering vs kansas. but on the road the red raiders allow 43 pts/game the last 2+ yrs. and the wildcats at home coming off a loss is as close to a sure thing as there is; 15-2-1 ats. kansas state. loss. tech gets a td w/0:05 less, dammitWashington State +7 1/2 @ Stanford: seems like forever i bet for stanford players since the 44-6 loss to uw, while the cougars must still be giddy over getting back to back wins vs oregon for the first time since '02-'03. cardinal is 9-1 off a loss, but but 0-5 ats off a big (21+) loss. plus wsu is 8-1 ats as road dogs lately. i've been unimpressed with stanford's offense this year. washington state. win. another sign of the changing of the guard in the pac 12.4-6-1. the slow slide below mediocrity continues

Trn, if it's not too late, just before 10 AM EST on Saturday morning, I'd like to change from Oklahoma to Texas. If it's too late or too much trouble, I'll accept your decision.

So, you're the guy who just paid off the refs. One of the worst non-calls I've ever seen. Oh, well...held them to 3 despite it all.

I changed to UTex because Charlie Strong demoted DC Vance Bedford and made all the D calls today. OU still got approximately 700 yards in offense and 45 points. I appreciate winning on points, but I think Charlie Strong is toast. Not to worry for Strong though, he'll get an opportunity elsewhere and soon.

I think he should be given 5 years, but I doubt that will happen. Whatever happens though, he will land on his feet.

The standard should be 5 years, but UF only gave Will Muschamp 4 years so I can't say anything except 3 years is too short. I wouldn't want to be the next coach knowing that I had a 3 year trigger happy boss.
