you pick the spread on this one first ..Thanks .....bucks opened -17.5. line has gone up to -21. based on recent history it would be a no brainer to go w the Hoosiers, who've covered the last 6 games in the series w lines ranging from +19 to +36.5. ...and we're off to the races!!

The pickin's are pretty slim this first week. Lots of payday games, unfortunately. I'm going to go see if I can find some interesting storylines, even if the betting lines are a bit lopsided. UF/Mich is definitely in. Others I'm thinking about: CSU/Colorado, Gtech/Utenn and Cal/NC Tarheels A really goofy one is Baylor v. Liberty. If there is a line at all, that one might be interesting just because of the wretched offseason Baylor has had. I don't know a thing about Liberty at this point, though. I assume they're a doormat. You'll have to lift the doormat and look under it to find Liberty.

Interesting stats for a first game of the year with a fat line. IU returns 9 starters on D. Add to that TOSU is 2-3 ATS as road fav last year. Add in the coaching change issue and I think I take 21. Last year at the Shoe...21 pt win. If it goes up a half point to 21.5....hmmmm...whats not to like?

This leads to a procedural Q for the board. The Wise guy board I visit has the line at 20.5. That's a big half point. Does that matter to us?

Does that matter to us? it absolutely matters. guarantees no pushes/ties, and vegas also often opens up a game with a 1/2 pt factor (like osu -17.5) to see how it affects betting. definitely should keep all lines, either at a full or half number. btw i posted those stats on the osu-iu game to prove that the hoosiers have played the bucks very competitively recently. always a lot of ohio kids on the indiana roster (around 20 this year, i believe) who have something to prove to the osu coaches who didn't recruit them, which adds spice to the competitiveness. one of those ohio kids on the iu roster is hunter littlejohn, who's from our hs (olentangy liberty), an o-lineman. good kid.

I think you are missing the gist of my Q. Different boards can vary by that half point and obviously it could matter. My Q is, should we pick one line as THE line as far as our game is concerned? I dont see that there needs to be an "official" source of 'the line'. ..LOL...and FTR I use the consensus at the VegasInsider site, so now, I guess its official. So....Nevermind.

At Vegas College Football Odds, take the consensus line. It's neither the highest nor the lowest and you will be consistent from week to week: www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/I wouldn't put the games of the week up until Tuesday of game week. That gives the oddsmakers and bettors time to adjust to new information provided by the coaches at their Monday pressers.

Betting against the Gators this year is obviously the smart move no matter what day of the week it is...their defense is gonna take a serious beating this year....the numbers are gonna be fugly....Nothing earth shattering there....

Oh wait, you can't look at Michigan's defensive backfield because your smart ass sob coach won't release a roster let alone a game week depth chart.
