It's OK in Michigan for homosexual foster parents to raise a child in that sick homo environment, but it is NOT OK to raise a child and teach him the responsibilities of gun ownership??    Who protects the foster children in a home invasion, or violent encounter on the street?
This is a PURE violation of the 2nd Amendment, and it won't stand very long.

The state should be more concerned about the cigarette hanging out of the guys mouth. Banning smokers from foster care or adoptions would be more protective. Anyone that comes to visit us has a designated smoking area on the back deck. No smoking in my cars either.

I agree with this.   Although I am a drug addict who indulges in the nasty habit, I totally respect people who don't want to be around it.
If I am on their territory, I obey their rules.   If I am in a public area, THEY can move away from ME.   I don't surrender my rights in public to anyone.

I started sneaking Viceroys from my mothers purse when I was 12. Finally quit at the age of 59, three packs a day. I have tolerance for smokers and say nothing about smokers in open places. If I go to their house and they smoke inside I can choose to stay or go. But I told my youngest daughter that if she or her husband smoked in the house or car with their babies I would go to court to remove the children from their care. They set up a smoking table on their back porch.

It's against the law here to smoke in a car containing children under a certain age.   The law is actually convoluted and refers to another statute regarding child safety restraints, so depending on how you wish to interpret it, it can be illegal to smoke with a child as old as 12 in the car.
What I'd like to know is how a cop can tell whether a kid is 12 or 13 just by looking at him.

Luckily the law CAN'T be used as PC for searching the car or anything else.
