good for you. good for the thief. keeps 'em alive and well. weeds take over a lawn the same way. still the "concept" should be not whether you're willing to kill, but are they willing to die. if they think so.......sorry about their luck. Their numbers will dwindle.
That being said, it is totally wrong to use deadly force in a non life-threatening situation.
If you want to kill a kid breaking into your car, and you have the 20 years or so to spend in prison because of it, I'm not gonna stand in your way. Hell, if I do, you might shoot ME, too.
You'd probably shoot someone after a car wreck too, since he damaged your precious property. That will surely teach people to drive more carefully, won't it? And it will cut down the numbers of careless drivers!
I get the feeling you have never shot anybody, nor have you seen too many people who have been shot.
I understand basically what you're saying...I think your window is narrow. If a kid is stealing my car out of my driveway, I'm not (PROBABLY) gonna pop a cap in his ass. Similar to the idiots who tried to say when a criminal pulls a gun, you should shoot him in the leg, sometimes the circumstances are different. If some gang banger is willing to kill me to take my property from my home, should I just try to shoot him in the leg to let him know I'm armed? Like the criminal, he can still pop that cap in MY ass...I'm not willing to die to let some punk MFer live. My TV might not be worth taking his life, but my life is. And if he's coming in my house, armed, sorry man...if I can, he's a dead MFer... |

I would imagine most thieves in this state know they are taking a chance because we have a whole lot of gun owning/carrying people here. You take a big chance when you decide to break in to a house or rob someone.

If someone threatens me or any other innocent person on the street with a deadly weapon, he is most likely one shot dude, and I will be pointing my gun center mass of the chest.
Like I said ........... my window is easy. If the threat of death or grave bodily harm is imminent (which includes ANY invasion of my house) then I WILL shoot if that's what it takes. If it is only property, no. I WILL try to arrest the thief at gunpoint, but if he runs off, well, he'll get caught later.
You've probably seen your shave of videos where a cop says "Don't move motherfukker, or I will kill you." I've said that a few times with a very serious tone, and it usually got their attention. That's what I'd do with a property thief. HE doesn't know that I won't shoot him, so it's worth making the bluff. |

If he is honestly looking for shelter from a storm, he will knock on the door and ask permission to enter.
Obviously it is YOU who can't tell the difference between someone needing help and someone who has bad intentions. NOWHERE did I say I would blast someone for simply coming in the door. But since I have a BRAIN, it won't take long to figure out WHY he came in.
Now go back and huddle up with Trn again, and see if you can pose something even MORE ridiculous.
