My granddaughter having fun with my Mini-14 last Sunday.
In the second photo she's shooting S-I-L's AR-15.
She likes the AR better because it has a scope on it.

Aluminum alloy is NOT steel.I stripped down my Mini-14 last night and cleaned it. Every part of it excluding the stock is STILL made of steel, just like it was last time I took it down.
Budweiser cans are not part of Ruger's production materiale.

AR barrel and bolt are steel; I would assume the firing mechanism as well. The receiver (both halves) is aluminum. Chrome plating is NOT construction material. What you are saying is that an AR is built exactly the same way an AK, which you disdain. Interesting.

I don't know if his AR has ever jammed. It's HIS, not mine.
A scoped rifle normally is more accurate for the shooter than a rifle with iron sights.
Scope both of them, or shoot both of them with iron sights, and I have no doubt there is no difference in practical accuracy. Built in accuracy of either gun is better than any shooter can take advantage of shooting the rifle unsupported, like combat rifles are meant to be shot.
I don't care if one might be slightly more accurate from a bench at a stationary target. That is not what they were designed for. Scopes can be knocked out of alignment, or fail. If you can't shoot accurately with iron sights only, don't call yourself a rifleman. |
