MEN'S TENNIS NO. 2 OHIO STATE ROUTS NO. 11 FLORIDA 5-2 The Buckeyes finish the weekend strong and get ready to travel for first time this season COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes had a test today as they had to face their second top-15 team in three days after an energetic but tense 4-3 win over No. 6 Texas A&M on Friday. However, the team never looked worse-for-wear as they took care of business today, defeating the No. 11 Florida Gators 5-2. The Buckeyes remain undefeated on the season and are now 8-0 on the year, while the Gators drop to 4-2. The Buckeyes have now played three straight ranked opponents as well, putting them at 3-0 on the year against nationally ranked teams. www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-tennis/recaps/021118aac.html

A blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then. osu’s men tennis team has been a perennial top 10 team for over a decade, they won the national indoor title in ‘14, lost in the final last season, made the semis in the ncaa last year, have made at least the round of 16 in every ncaa tournament since ‘05. blind squirrel lmao

A blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then. So hang in there, there's hope for your program still. P.S. Step up to the plate a little more...when you only sponsor 21 programs, it limits your potential. I'd suggest you sponsor more Title IX, women's sports.

Last season, the bucknut men came to Gainesville and won 4-1. Winning 2 sets in bucknutland was an improvement. Still, it's a bit troubling that the UF men hang around in the 11-20 range and don't seem to get better from year to year. The men's teams are good, but never great. Also last season, the Gator women beat the bucknut women in Orlando when both were ranked. UF went on to win the national championship. The bucknuts should have lined the Gators up again this season. UF is going to be bumpy ride as the squad is split equally between true freshmen and seniors. Talent and experience isn't what it was last season and may not be again in 19 after graduating so many seniors after this season. The talent is good, but the experience is lacking at this point in time.

A blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then. So hang in there, there's hope for your program still. P.S. Step up to the plate a little more...when you only sponsor 21 programs, it limits your potential. I'd suggest you sponsor more Title IX, women's sports. I agree. UF might finish in the top 10, say for the last 34 years, or top 5 in 9 consecutive ongoing years of the Director's Cup if the Florida administration would expand to the number of programs offered at Stanford and Ohio State: floridagators.com/news/2017/6/29/general-gator-athletics-program-finishes-third-in-the-nation.aspxSeriously, I'd like to see men's gymnastics, men's lacrosse, men's soccer, and men's volleyball added so a few additional women's programs would have to be added as UF already has women's programs in these sports. Many years ago, UF had a wrestling team, I went to a match in the old Alligator Alley where UF used to play basketball, but I didn't like the sport then or now. I know it's popular, an Olympics sport, but I don't watch it in the Olympics either. I wouldn't know where to start with the women. Maybe bowling and other sports like it. UF has excellent swimming teams so maybe an additional water sport although I have no idea what exits out there to compete in. Bottom line though, UF usually does very well with the fewer sports that is offered. While Alabama is recognized as the king of football in the SEC, Florida is recognized as the king of the all-sports programs in the SEC. In the 90s and 00s, UF also had the bonus of being the best SEC football team of those decades. With the hiring of Dan Mullen, Urban Meyer Light, there is hope that the football program will again compete for SEC and national championships in the near future. JMHO, Dan Mullen will prove to be a homerun hire for UF. EDIT: Presuming UF is in compliance with Title IX, the money UF spends on scholarships and equipment is in balance. If UF were to add any of the above men's sports, UF would have to add the same spending on scholarships and equipment in women's sports. Looking down the following list, I don't honestly see anything that UF would want to add for competition within or out of the SEC: Beach Volleyball Fencing Field Hockey Ice Hockey Pistol Rifle Rowing Rowing Ltw Sailing Spirit Program Squash Synchronized Swimming Water Polo If UF is spending more money on women's sports since the last sports added were women's soccer and women's lacrosse, I'd like to see UF add men's gymnastics and men's volleyball over men's soccer and men's lacrosse. Both sports would be immensely more popular and huge attendance draws for UF just like the women's programs are now. It may not be about the Title IX money at this point. UF has a plan approved for a new student athlete building to be built that will service all UF athletes. It may be that UF is spending its available money on building needs rather than adding sports programs at this time.

No Gator would want to watch a home match either. Wrestling is a snooze fest.
