well at least they don't need to spend time at some gun range... their 'range' is the street. Then again, gun ranges don't allow felons to shoot anyway. ::shrug::

My range doesn't ask if I'm a felon or not. I just show my ID and happily get my police discount on the range fee.

My range doesn't ask if I'm a felon or not. I just show my ID and happily get my police discount on the range fee. I show my ODNR instructor ID at the state public ranges, shoot for free. Show my NRA instructor ID at some private ranges that then allow me to shoot for free, usually with the caveat that I'll do a little "instructing" to the newbies there. Which then usually takes up about 90% of my time there. We have our own range at our clubgrounds which is where I do the majority of my shooting, sighting in. The public ranges I use is for normally long range shooting. the private ones are normally because it's to friggen cold to be out side at our range.

The only open free range around here is 40 miles away. It's cheaper and easier for me to simply pay the $10 range fee and blast away. And if my wife or granddaughter wants to go, Wednesdays are "women shoot for free" day.

I was watching a video earlier of one of the parents of the Parkland victims. He was speaking at the Fl legislature meetings. He said he wished that Fl would do something to make sure that kids could feel safe in school. As safe as the people in that meeting felt. He said "We aren't worried about someone coming in here and shooting us. Our kids should feel that same way in school" I was just thinking Ummm you feel safe in there because that building has armed guards , but lets make sure schools are gun free zones. SMH

Gun Free Zone = "Kill me and take your time. I can't fight back."

My range doesn't ask if I'm a felon or not. I just show my ID and happily get my police discount on the range fee. I can see why a retired police officer would have no problem but legit ranges require first timers to fill out paper work and show proper ID. NO FELONS ( or snowflakes ) ALLOWED!
