Hey, Bryan.. was 'browsing' last weekend and saw a Smith and Wesson MP9 shield, the M2.0 .. REALLY liked the feel so I bought one. Was just a little taken back by the fact this one had the safety option but it was 'on sale'.. although the safety is an option if ever needed, and its so easy to disengage, I said 'no problem'.. Anyway, went to the range with it and found that it was one nice shooting weapon. Put two hundred rounds though it with nary even the hint of a glitch. Very nice to handle and shoot. Very accurate. Came with two mags. One 8 round and one 7. Bought an extra 8 round mag as a back up. 17 round mag is also available to purchase. Thin and very easy to carry and conceal. keep it loaded with 147 grain Federal premiums HSTs... So impressed with it that it might be my new carry... Comes in a .40 also... but ya know how I am ( these days ) about the nine.  Half the price of my G19 and highly recommend this weapon for anyone looking for a solid defense gun. What ya think..?.. I always hated the old M&P pistols, the triggers were total crap but I've heard nothing but great things about the new 2.0's. May have to look into one after reading your regarded review, Rox. I hear ya , Fred. I don't feel cheated whatsoever with the 2.0 MP. I tried a MP a couple of years ago, like you, and thought "naa, but then like I said , came across this 2.0 and really like the feel of it. I say get yourself one, can't go wrong. |

I tried one once, and I didn't like that hinged trigger. My daughter had one in .40 cal, but she traded it for a Springfield XD-something or other. LOL.
I admit I never shot the M&P, but it just didn't appeal to me.
If you can get one for half the price of a G19, you are paying way too much for the Glock!
I paid 'out the door' $340 for MP9. I paid 'out the door' $590 for the G19. So 'half price' WAS a little off. Anyway , like Fred said, the MP9 2.0 version is much improved. Really satisfied with mine. |

If you like it and it suits you, that's all that matters. Those 147 gr HST's seem to be pretty good.

My G30S was $450 out the door, with my LE discount, and Louisiana's tax free 2nd Amendment Appreciation weekend when I bought it. LA doesn't just SAY we support 2A, we SHOW it. I think it's 2 weekends a year, firearms and firearms/hunting related items/accessories are sold with ZERO LA. sales tax.
I like to take a 9mm snap cap, put it in the chamber of one of my .45's, and watch and listen to it rattle on down the barrel and out the muzzle when I point it down.
