That's some good shootin', and that's what matters most, no matter what caliber you use. So what happened to 9mm may expand to .45 but .45ACP never shrinks? That's still a fact, but I figure 8 small holes in one area are as good as 3 or 4 large ones. One thing that seems to be overlooked is that a person is not going to stand there and let you shoot him 8 times in the same place. The FIRST shot is the one that will count the most.

If more are 'needed' , then you have that option too. The 8 shot groups are fun to do but in reality, mostly shoot 2 and 3 groups.and a lot from the draw or quickly picking the weapon up from the counter top. Two hand grip, one hand , left hand... 25 push ups or burpees, then jump up and shoot, from the draw... different scenarios... fun fun fun.. and no, can't hit that 6 inch circle all 8 shots after the push ups, or burpees..

I wouldn't go up against you. You can probably outshoot me pretty easily.

I go through a hundred target rounds before I even seem to get warmed up.. Might be one reason why I took a liking to the nine .. cheaper to shoot than the .40. but yeah, try to use different situations when at the range.. winded, 'injured' shooting hand, etc. Once , My son and I had a 2 out of 3 arm wrestling contest, then drew and shot, reloaded and shot again. Now THAT was a little tough. good times..

Now THAT was a little tough. good times.. I like Carlos Hathcock's method of teaching snipers to shoot. You go out to the range and shoot ONE SHOT ........ no warmups, no gun prep, nothing but see and shoot. You do that every day, over and over, no matter the weather, your physical condition or what have you. This of course assumes you already know where to put your sights to get a hit.
That's what a real sniper situation is like unless you are in the middle of a firefight, and what a real shootout will be like. You can't say "Time out while I get ready." You really can't prepare for it, since it will happen when you are NOT ready, unlike at the range where you KNOW what is about to happen.
Of course, in reality you don't go to the range to fire only one shot. Just let your first shot be the only one that counts that day. The rest of the shooting you do will be in preparation for the first shot of the next day/week/month.

Agree. Reality doesn't always allow you to 'get ready'.. Violence is lightning quick and brutally savage. No one should know that you are ALWAYS aware of your surroundings. Always.

Head on a swivel I always say. I've had off duty cops I interact with sometimes ask me if I'm LE, probably because I'm always keeping on top of my situational awareness.

You two act more like cops than I do! I once saved two idiots lives by simply putting my hand in my pocket. My wife and I were leaving a Christmas party a few years ago and it was late. The car was parked about 50 yards away and I noticed two guys walking our way on the other side of the street. When they decided to cross about 10 yards ahead of us I made eye contact and put my right hand in my pocket. Body language told me they were going to do more than ask for directions. Anyway, when they saw the hand go in the pocket, they decided to 'ask' someone else and kept walking. . All's well than ends well.

Damn! You two act more like cops than I do! I bet he eats a lot of doughnuts too..........in public at that Well, I was in the "Donuts USA" club at work. Every Friday you bring a dozen to work if it's your turn. I never wanted to be in the club because I never eat donuts but joined anyway. I quit after a couple of years and have never heard the end of it. I still go in the kitchen every Friday to peruse the selection though.
