Did you even read the article? It was written in 2013. here is a quote from it:
"Admitting that the legislation is largely symbolic, Councilman Duane Cronic, who introduced the measure last month, said the law will serve as an effective deterrent to crime, comparing it to homes that warn of a security system on the premise, even when there may be none.
“This is like a big security sign for our city,” Cronic said.
Nelson City Council says the measure - which closely mirrors one adopted in the 1980s in Kennesaw, Georgia, that supporters say has tamped down crime rates - has been warmly endorsed by this community of 1,300 people."
When Kennesaw, Ga., passed a similar ordinance in the 1980s, crime in the city dropped dramatically. They never "forced" anyone to buy a firearm, but just the thought that just about everyone in town could be armed would likely make a criminal consider another place to rob or steal.

I am ignorant of much of this marching shit since I don't really watch the news, but it looks like pure irony; idiots exercising their 1st Amendment rights to strip away from millions their 2nd Amendment rights. Typical commie shit. While being guarded by people with guns. SMH |

That law was not passed by the NRA. Why do you LIE?
No one wants to force anyone to own a gun. I sure don't want YOU to have one. You'd mishandle it and shoot your own son or wife. IF you could figure out how to load it and what to load it with.
