Why is one too old to be relevant and not the other

and the 2nd refers to how to keep a free state..........nothing has changed. That ad was to tell dad how to keep his home and family in a "free state" and not enslaved to a state of crime

There goes those goal posts. And it said nothing about a free state. It did say KILL though. Cant deny it.

Makes one wonder if a kill shot to the face would be the humane thing to do, or if a lingering gut shot would be more appropriate...

The only reason to own a rifle with a 20-round magazine is to kill a bunch of people in a hurry; a war / conflict situation. Anything else you might need it for can be served with a 5-round magazine.

Seriously, in what other situation would you =need= 20 rounds without reloading?  See if you can describe that without sounding ridiculous.

how so? The State of Ohio says I belong to the unorganized militia. been in it since i turned 16. State law says I have to be in it unless I "conscientiously object" on the grounds that the State says I can.

Don't own even one 20. But a ten works best for my 13 lb DMR Sig prairie dog shooting. And I have a dozen loaded to go when I hunt. I actually get a discount from the rancher we use to hunt Elk (there I'll carry 3 rounds in my .338) to help him clear out those pests from his pastureland. And it's challenging and fun. Sooooooooo, I'll vote for ten, thank you.

I agree. 
The 2nd Amendment should be modernized to read:
"Because the government can not adequately defend every individual in the United States, every individual in the U.S. shall have the right to bear firearms of his choice, subject to currently existing  BATF restrictions ."
