Walt, I'm having to evacuate my home on the boast this week due to Hurricane Florence. If I don't get to make picks this week will you please just give me the favorite on each game, and if the spread is a pick, then the Home team? Thanks. Stay dry and be safe Robb.

Thanks guys. I'm leaving tomorrow at 5 AM for Florida. (Isn't that bizarre? "I'm headed to Florida to escape a dangerous hurricane!") Got to this late. Be safe. My bro lives in Wrightsville Beach off the inner-coastal and he's gonna ride it out.

Thanks guys. I'm leaving tomorrow at 5 AM for Florida. (Isn't that bizarre? "I'm headed to Florida to escape a dangerous hurricane!") It was a year and one day ago that we got hit by Irma. Luckily moving over landed diminished her power before it got to us but Florence is equally ferocious and getting larger with every eye wall replacement cycle. Be safe, Robb.

glad you’re getting out of potential harm’s way robb. one of our girls just got back to blacksburg after evacuating from her home on hatteras/outer banks where she works march-sept on research. now looking like this storm will still pack a punch even that far inland across the mountains. be smart and safe ok? the mountains can be worse. lots of water running fast down steep inclines makes for a bad day. couldn't talk her into central ohio? saw that 1st hand the spring of ‘77 on the tug river which divides wv and ky. a stream that was ankle deep in most places turned into whitewater rapids carrying a couple homes, a few cars, lots and lots of appliances. it devasted the town of williamson where my dad grew up and my grandmother lived. my mom’s grandparents lived across the river in belfry, ky where she grew up. we put their little Home up on cinder blocks to get above the water. a bad winter and 4-5 straight days of heavy rains had water rushing down the appalachian mountains into the tug and other small rivers. williamson never recovered and is a ghost town today where drug users may outnumber those with jobs. very sad, and you never forget the stench left behind by flooding.

He's a bit inside of the intercoastal. When we drive the GC down we are going down hill and he's at the top of the SD. He says he's boarded up, has a whole house gen set and has enough cigars and bourbon to last. Intel he has says it'll divert South of him and be a Cat 1 when it does hit. <shrug> He's lasted through several close missile strikes in 'Nam, w a F4 and landing on a cold greasy deck in the N Pacific, at night, in his Tomcat, in-between playing tag w Russian bombers. He'll be OK.

Good news from home....my house made it through the hurricane and the flooding intact. (I actually expected it to.) However, the flooding is preventing me from returning home. Hopefully in a couple more days!
