      With his American Pravda series, published at the Unz Review in recent months, Ron Unz has become my favorite conservative American intellectual.  Fascinating analyses of the evolution of U.S. mainstream media propaganda, and the "untold" and/or suppressed history of Europe and the U.S. during the past century.

      I don't agree with all of his political views, (e.g., English only) and I, definitely, don't agree with all of the "alternative" news essays published by the Unz Review, but the man is, obviously, a genius, and quite a scholar.  (He also happens to be Jewish, although the Unz Review has been attacked by the ADL for publishing articles that are critical of Israel.)

      Unz graduated from Harvard, and attended Cambridge and Stanford (to study theoretical physics) before dropping out to start a successful software company in Palo Alto.  He ran for Governor of California in 1994, in a campaign called the Revenge of the Nerds, due to his apparent I.Q. of 214.  He then founded the American Conservative, where he was Editor in Chief until a few years ago.

      Today, Unz has published the latest installment of his American Pravda series, focusing on the 9/11 Truth movement.

      This is extremely well-written and well-referenced, and describes the trajectory of my own understanding of 9/11 history-- from thinking that the 9/11 Truthers were a bunch of nuts, to gradually realizing what had happened in the U.S. before and during the Bush-Cheney years.

      This can't be reduced to a simpllistic mass media sound byte, folks.  It's not for the feeble-minded.

American Airlines Flight 11: a Boeing 767 aircraft, departed Logan Airport at 7:59 a.m. en route to Los Angeles with a crew of 11 and 76 passengers, not including five hijackers. The hijackers flew the plane into the northern facade of the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City at 8:46 a.m.
United Airlines Flight 175: a Boeing 767 aircraft, departed Logan Airport at 8:14 a.m. en route to Los Angeles with a crew of nine and 51 passengers, not including five hijackers. The hijackers flew the plane into the southern facade of the South Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City at 9:03 a.m.
American Airlines Flight 77: a Boeing 757 aircraft, departed Washington Dulles International Airport at 8:20 a.m. en route to Los Angeles with a crew of six and 53 passengers, not including five hijackers. The hijackers flew the plane into the western facade of the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, at 9:37 a.m.

          Getting back to the original subject of this American history thread-- CFB dung troll deflections aside-- I noticed that Ron Unz's initial skepticism about the official U.S. government narrative about 9/11-- like mine-- began with his realization that the Bush-Cheney administration, and the mainstream U.S. media, had deliberately lied to the American public about their pretexts for invading Iraq in 2003.

          Like Ron Unz, I never doubted the official U.S. government/mass media narratives about 9/11 until long after the invasion of Iraq.

          Here is Unz's commentary from the lead article for this thread...

       "In theoretical physics, new scientific breakthroughs often occur when known objects are found to behave in inexplicable ways, thereby suggesting the existence of previously unsuspected forces or particles. In evolutionary biology, when an organism appears to be acting against its own genetic interests, we may safely assume that it has probably fallen under the control of some other entity, typically a parasite, which has hijacked the host and is directing its activities toward different ends. While I couldn’t be entirely sure what was happening to the politics and media of my own country, something very odd and disturbing was certainly taking place.

       Things soon became much worse. Since the 9/11 attacks had apparently been organized by Osama bin Laden and he was based in Afghanistan under Taliban protection, our attack on that country at least seemed rational. Bill Odom rightly called the “greatest strategic disaster in United States history.” American forces suffered tens of thousands of needless deaths and injuries, while our country took a huge step toward national bankruptcy. Economics Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz and others have estimated that with interest the total long-term cost of our two recent wars may reach as high as $5 or $6 trillion, or as much as $50,000 per American household, mostly still unpaid. Meanwhile, economist Edward Wolff has calculated that the Great Recession and its aftermath cut the personal net worth of the median American household to $57,000 in 2010 from a figure nearly twice as high three years earlier. Comparing these assets and liabilities, we see that the American middle class now hovers on the brink of insolvency, with the cost of our foreign wars being a leading cause.

        But no one involved in the debacle ultimately suffered any serious consequences, and most of the same prominent politicians and highly paid media figures who were responsible remain just as prominent and highly paid today. For most Americans, reality is whatever our media organs tell us, and since these have largely ignored the facts and adverse consequences of our wars in recent years, the American people have similarly forgotten. Recent polls show that only half the public today believes that the Iraq War was a mistake."

So, how many of those passengers that were never on those planes that never flew and never crashed have come forward to expose this nefarious conspiracy? All it will take is for one to speak out and others will follow. Why do you suppose none have spoken? I personally went to a memorial for a high school friend that was a VP at Cantor Fitzgerald and died in one of the towers. I spoke to his current wife/widow, and his ex-wife (also a high school friend) and his adult and teenage children. Either they were magnificent actors or their father/husband was really dead.
You're retired, and made beaucoup bucks bilking Medicare and Medicaid, and the nefarious insurance industry, with your phony degree. Why don't you investigate all those names on those fake manifests and solve this mystery?
