LSU is also #3. At least for 3 more days. LSU is #4 in the AP which is what he is using. Still, #5 is incorrect too.

#19 IOWA AT PURDUE -3 iowa tossed a pick on 1st/goal at the psu 3 w/3:00 left to lose at psu, while the boilers did what every team but one this year has done after playing tosu... they lost (23-13 at sparty). purdue has actually been outgained in 3 of their last 4 games. iowa has revenge (lost to pu 24-14 last yr), the visitor in this series has covered 8 straight, the hawks have actually outgained every opponent so far this season, and kirk ferentz is 12-3 su/13-2 ats when off a loss of 6+ pts. iowa.
CAL AT #10 WASHINGTON ST -10.5 both these teams are off upset wins (cal over washington, holding the huskies to 250 ttl yds; wsu over stanford). bears have actually dominated this series of late (11-2 su, including 37-3 last yr in berkeley after causing 7 cougar turnovers). host has covered the last 3 in the series, and wsu is 7-0 ats as -10+ home chalk. but the bears are 14-2 ats as dogs off a su/ats win. california keeps it close.
#1 ALABAMA AT #5 LSU +14 don't know if any of you have read al or cb, but apparently the tide has won 7 straight in this series, last 5 by 10+. qb tua tagovailoa has yet to play a full game, yet to throw a pick (vs 25 td's), their defense has 14 picks this season and is holding foes to 145 yds/game below their season average. they look unbeatable. that said... lsu's d is holding opponents to 95 yds/game below their average, and the tigers have covered 6 straight when getting points 6-0-1 ats the last 7 as a dog when .800+), plus 5-0 ats w/sec revenge. can lsu's defense (easily the best the tide has faced so far, especially in the secondary) and run game get this game into the 4th qtr, hell the 3rd qtr (alabama has led games this year by an average of 40-7). 2 cfb nerd stats to consider; 7-0/better road favorites off a bye, allowing 15+/game are 1-10 ats vs opponents w/revenge, and in the last 10 years, lsu is 57-7 su at home, and just 1 of those losses has been by more than 10 points. i'll take the points. louisiana state.
#22 SYRACUSE AT WAKE FOREST +4.5 wake looked good last week, but everyone's looked good playing louisville this yr. last week 'cuse upset nc state to go 6-2 and become bowl eligible for the 1st time in 5 yrs. the orange have revenge here, getting outscored 40-5 in the last 25:00 to lose 64-43, but the deacons are 21-13 as acc home dogs since '04. syracuse is 6-3 ats as road chalk of late. syracuse.
MISSOURI AT #13 FLORIDA -6 last yr the gators lost at mizzou 45-16. this weekend they play off a 36-17 loss to uga. the tigers followed their '18 m.o.; run up big scores vs non-sec opponents, and struggle vs power 5 defenses. same thing happens saturday. missouri is just 2-6 ats as road dogs, 1-5 ats vs revenge. gators are 9-5 ats as home chalk. florida.
#3 NOTRE DAME AT NORTHWESTERN +9.5 hard to believe this will be the first trip for the irish to evanston, about 100 miles from south bend, in 40+ yrs. they're headed there w/revenge (43-40 loss to n'western last yr at home), 5-0 su since qb ian book took over the now-balanced offense. nd is 6-3 ats as road chalk of late; the wildcats 5-1 ats as ooc home dogs of 6+. is it possible the 'cats, in control of their big 10 west destiny, could be possibly be looking past this game, after pounding wisconsin and iowa on the horizon next week?? well, so far this year they are 0-4 ats as favorites, 4-0 ats as underdogs. and under brian kelly, notre dame is 1-8 ats as road favorites of 3+ in big 10 stadiums. northwestern hangs around.
#16 UTAH AT ARIZONA ST +7 looking more and more like the utes are the class of the pac12 south. 4 straight wins by an average of 24/game, due to an improved offense and a red zone defense that's among the best in the country. a yr ago the sun devils shocked utah 30-10 in salt lake city. asu is 6-10-1 ats as pac12 home dogs off a win, just 1-6 ats as dogs of 9/less. their win over usc last week came w/an asterisk imho, due to the trojans' numerous injuries. utah. #24 BOSTON COLLEGE AT VIRGINIA TECH +2.5 the virginia tech defense has really taken a few steps backwards from frank beamer's tenure in blacksburg. bc and its strong run attack is headed in the opposite direction. despite losing the last 3 in the series, the eagles are 5-2 ats the last 7, and 8-0 ats w/acc revenge of late, while covering their last 7 games on the acc road. boston college.
#14 PENN ST. AT #5 MICHIGAN -10 in '17 psu spanked the ugly hats 42-13, w/a 506-269 edge in total yds. hard to see a repeat of that saturday happening. um already has 2 wins (wisconsin, sparty) on their 'revenge tour', outgaining them by nearly 500 yds total. w/nitt qb trace mcsorley sporting a damaged knee after last week, and the wolverines holding 3 of their last 5 foes to under 50 total yds in the 1st half, and '18 opponents 216 yds/game under their season average, i don't think 10 is enough. penn state is just 3-8 ats as road dogs lately to boot. michigan.
#25 TEXAS A&M AT AUBURN -5 lost some lunch money on the aggies last week. fisher's done a nice job improving the a&m defense. auburn is just 3-7-1 as sec chalk before playing georgia. visitor is 5-0-1 ats lately in this series. texas a&m
AIR FORCE AT ARMY -7 commander in chief trophy up for grabs here. flyboys are 25-4 su in this series since '89, but the cadets are easily the better team this yr. that said, air force is 9-2-1 ats as road dogs the last 4 yrs; army is only 6-10 ats as home chalk. army wins but air force covers.
#6 GEORGIA AT #11 KENTUCKY +9.5 ok. anyone who thought this game would decide the sec east this season, please take one step forward. 'cats were down 14-3 w/5:00 left at missouri and pulled off the win. dawgs pulled away late from uf for a 36-17 win. uga's offense vs a uk defense that has 22 sacks this season. wildcats just 4-11 ats as home dogs of late but georgia is just 2-9 ats after a su/ats win over the gators. kentucky finds a way to keep this close.
#7 OKLAHOMA AT TEXAS TECH +12 home team here has covered the last 5. sooners have bounced back from the texas loss to play imho their best 2 games of the season, in no small part to a rejuvenated defense. tech's d is also improved but their offense has failed them some (just 30 yds rushing vs iowa state last week). w/ou having bedlam vs oklahoma state up next... texas tech gets the backdoor cover.
STANFORD AT WASHINGTON -9.5 biggest shock of last week was uw falling to cal 12-10. huskies just 4-10 su/5-9 ats of late in this series. the cardinal is 13-4 ats getting points... stanford.
#12 WEST VIRGINIA AT #15 TEXAS -1.5 2 of the 3 teams (ou is the 3rd) tied atop the big 12. wvu qb will grier is having a fantastic season (2272 yds, 25 td's vs 7 int). horns are just 2-8 ats as home favorites, while the 'eers are 3-1 ats getting points on the road. west virginia.
