Alabama alumni reach 100 NFL touchdowns in 2022

In the 2010 NFL regular season, 26 Alabama alumni played. One scored a touchdown – running back Kenneth Darby, who reached the end zone three times for the St. Louis Rams.

Twelve years later, Alabama had 70 of its former players appear in the regular season, the most for one college program in one campaign in NFL history. And 19 of those players combined to score 100 touchdowns in the 2022 NFL regular season.

The next-highest collection of touchdowns in the 2022 NFL regular season for players from the same college program belonged to Ohio State, which had 18 alumni score 63.

Whisenhunt, 60, replaces Drew Svoboda, who left Alabama after two seasons to become special teams coordinator at North Texas. Whisenhunt's son-in-law, Zach Mettenberger, is an Alabama analyst and a former quarterback at Georgia, LSU and in the NFL.

I think with the latest two coordinator hires, we may see more of the old style ground and pound offense with a stout defense, im hoping anyway.
