Last night's focus on Rodman and Jackson was pretty fascinating. I always recall the "Zen master" reference but it was cool to see how Jackson connected with each guy on a personal level but in very different ways. The Rodman "vacation" to Vegas was crazy, too. Great series so far.

Forgot this gem from the other night...
When asked about the complaints of him getting the ball too much, Jordan said, "There's no 'I' in team. There's an 'I' in win!"

My observations from episodes 5 and 6-----
1)Jordon had/has a serious gambling addiction. Watching him pitch coins with the security guy was funny, especially when the security guy won and taunted Jordan a bit. Dude does not like to lose at anything. 2) The Nba was badass in the 80-90s, when I watched the most, the guys were beating the hell out of each other. It seems to be more of a powderpuff League now although I admittedly do not follow it as closely. Those Bulls series with the Pistons and the Knicks where must see tv back then. 3)If Michael Jordon wanted to beat you on the court, there was nothing you could do about it. Listening to him talk about how he was going to light up guys like Clyde Drexler, Dan Majerle, Charles Barkley, Isaiah Thomas ect... seems he's still to this day hates Isaiah Thomas with a passion. 4) the 1992 Olympic dream team was the greatest collection of NBA Talent of all time in my opinion. Those guys just toyed with the world and pummeled everyone. It was especially fascinating how Jordan and Pippen were intent on shutting down Toni kukoc. 5)Jordon may have become an ass-hole towards the end to his teammates but the guy wanted perfection and he wanted everyone to play as hard as he did, he could take over and dominate a game at will, which only solidifies in my mind his rightful place as the GOAT of the NBA.

I got a kick out of the 'jordan rules' the pistons had for the bulls during detroit's heyday, and the 'jordan rules' the rest of the league thought the referees had in treating michael so favorably. lol what I've found entertaining re jordan's motivation, was how often it came from how jerry krause viewed players from outside chicago, or how he treated pippin. i wonder what it was about thomas, because it couldn't have been just that he played for the pistons. michael even emphasized how much respect he had for Isiah's game, then emphasized how much more he despised him.

No one will ever convince me that Jordan wasn't suspended. You touched on it in #3 above... the guy was at the top of his game and hated to lose more than anything in life yet we are supposed to believe he decided to go be a below-average, minor league baseball? Not a chance. Stern had the goods on him after his dad was murdered but rather than have a huge scandal leave a black eye on the league (that Jordan helped build, by the way), he cut a deal to have Jordan step away and get his shit together. As to #4, the stories about the legendary scrimmage have been around for years but there was rarely any footage of it until The Last Dance. That had to be something to see with that collection of talent.

They alluded to Jordan's dislike for Isiah stemming from the handshake (or lack thereof) after they knocked the Pistons out of the playoffs in '91. For him to be that bitter still tells me there is something else that happened, especially when he was willing to skip the Olympics in '96 if Thomas was on the team.

Saw him around Bham numerous times back in the day when he played for the Barons
