I made a grilled salmon with a mushroom cream sauce and a side of steamed rice dish last weekend, taken from a recipe from Pierre Selvaggio of the posh Italian restaurant Valentina, here in LA, and as we enjoyed it, my friend says, "Ya know, this sauce would go well over a plate of pasta."
So, last night I took her advice, did the same recipe, but rather than plate the grilled salmon, I chopped it up, mixed it into the pasta and added the cream sauce and a little grated parmesan cheese.
Oh, baby.....Might just have been the best pasta dish I've ever had. And I mean....EVER. (Or....it might have been the chardonnay while making it and then just an excellently good plate of pasta....hard to tell). Nevertheless, I liked it a lot.
I'm going to recreate it, perhaps over the weekend, and if I do, I'll take pics and post the recipe. Cheap, fast and easy to do.
It was killer diller.

Sounds good. I like to grill/smoke salmon filets marinated in a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil and dill. I put the marinated filets on foil and light the opposite half of the grill-- with soaked mesquite chips wrapped in foil over the flame for smoke. This is good with a horse radish/dill sauce and other sauces-- including cranberry relish, etc. My favorite is horse radish with dill.

Why screw up a good piece of salmon by dumping some kind of sauce on it?
