When anyone suggests that a law-abiding citizen have the right to bear arms suspended, come back and ask that question.

Meanwhile, you're suggesting that since I have no history of driving drunk, I should be able to drive without a license.

You keep bringing up privileges vs rights, and you always get it wrong.

You do NOT have the right to fly on an airliner.  That airliner is private property.

You DO have the right to own a firearm.

Nowhere does the law say you must know who you sell a gun to in a private sale.  In most private sales that I know of, a bill of sale will be made out to protect both parties from later claims of theft.  The last time I did a private sale (which was actually a straight trade), we saw each other's driver's licenses, and all of that information was listed on TWO bills of sales, both of which we signed, and each of us kept one.  We had the information we needed, but we kept it from the prying eyes of an overreaching government.

When I need a can of spray paint, I go to my local hardware store or WalMart, pick it up off the shelf and pay for it.  The only clerk involved is the checkout clerk.
