One of my nieces is married to a guy who volunteers to cook for a lot of WWP outings in the Carolinas. We're proud of his efforts. You are worthy of exaltation.

Thanks, but all exaltations are for these brave men and women. Took 3 families out on the pontoon boat today. One lost his left hand and eye and required a hip replacement when his Hummvee was hit by an RPG, one lost both legs from a roadside IED, and one (young woman) lost her left arm when her copter was shot down and crashed. All were married with children and they had a terrific time with their young kids and loved ones. I feel blessed that I am able to do a little something for these terrific people, We also organized an airlift to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. 100 cases (24 boxes per case) of Girl Scout cookies went out last week to each location. Just a little love from home.
My sister used to send me 12 boxes of Nilla Vanilla Wafers (my favorite after Oreos) each month when I was in Vietnam. What a treat that was! I would share some with my guys. Maybe that's why they looked out for me? She's been gone for 12 years now but I still think of her when I'm eating them.

Teaching the girl scouts about giving and holding their heads up high in the process. How very kool is that!! {{{Hugs to all those that gave to those terrific people }}} AWESOME!! I'm sure your sister is looking down and is very proud of you.

Somebody had to buy those cookies and donate them to the military. The Girl Scouts don't donate them, and they still get their cut of the purchase.

Wow, is everything a negative with you??? Here's a thought,, children learn by example. duh!! Gotta agree with kaz on this one. Consult billy for help with your anger and abandonment issues. Your too much fun.... So what your saying is that the girl Scouts raising money so they can send 37,500 boxes of cookies overseas to our troops is NOT teaching them anything? Like caring about others? Maybe they should sit home and bake the cookies that mom/dad will still have to spend the money to buy the supplies, pay for the electric to cook them, and the packaging plus shipping. Seems to me that teaching children how to think about others is a good thing. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cookies for the Military A Taste of Home There’s nothing like a special treat that reminds you of home when you are far away, serving your country. Girl Scout Cookies are among the most requested items for women and men serving in our armed forces–and they are a great way to say “Thank You” to these brave soldiers. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida has teamed up with Forgotten Soldiers and America’s Moms for Soldiers to make sure that Girl Scout Cookies are part of every care package that goes out, but we can’t do it without you. Since the program began in 2009, more than 116,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies have been donated locally as part of our Cookies for the Military Campaign. We can do more. Our goal for 2013 is 37,500 boxes, and we know that with your help, we can reach, and even exceed that goal. You can donate online anytime by filling out the form below. Girl Scouts will also accept donations throughout the 2013 Cookie Sale (January 24-February 17) at booths across our area. www.gssef.org/donate/cookies-for-the-military/go back to exalting yourself......

Speaking of girl scout cookies...how about this as a lesson for the girls....
Yesterday as I was shopping at a nearby strip mall I was stopped by a girl selling cookies with her friends at a table. I told her...If I buy and eat your cookies I'll get fat! (smile on my face). She laughed and said "Our cookies don't make you fat!" Then I pulled out some money and gave it to her and said..."Tell you what...the next little kid you see here, you give him a box of cookies...on me." Win-win-win...all the way around. Everyone benefits, and TWO kids get to learn a lesson about generosity and kindness.
