Anyone can obtain a firearm if he wants it bad enough.

He can steal it himself, or he can buy it from another criminal.   He can kill someone as a favor to a gang leader who gave him the gun as payment for the hit.

I don't understand the problem.

We have signs that say guns are not allowed in certain places.

We have laws that forbid murder.

We have laws that forbid intentionally injuring another person, period.

So why do bad things keep happening?

Yes, it is a VERY GOOD IDEA to have armed personnel in schools, along with more secure entryways.   Despite Texas law allowing it, there was NO armed security officer at that school in Uvalde.  Why are you ignoring THAT fact?

We will never know what might have happened if security had been in place, but we know for a FACT that the Uvalde School District dropped the ball by not having a security officer or two in place.

Buying a gun and ammo with the intent to commit a crime makes you a bad guy from the moment you decided to buy the gun. How do you plan to stop someone that buys an "assault rifle" and 100 round magazine in another state from selling it to someone in California? It is already illegal to do so. Has anyone in California used an illegal weapon with an illegal magazine or clip in a crime? How do you propose to stop that?
