When it gets to the point of the citizens finally having to overthrow the federal government, the U.S. military will NOT be on the side of the dictator. They too, will be working to remove him/her.
The 2nd American Civil War won't take long at all, and Demonrats will be left wondering what the hell hit them. If any of them are stupid enough to keep supporting the dictator.
The U.S. lost in Vietnam. We lost in Afghanistan. It's amazing how those farmers and goatherders could hold off the American army and air force with their AK-47's.

I doubt the military, in any significant numbers, would violate their oath and participate in a violent insurrection, particularly knowing that a firing squad would await them.
No American serviceman has EVER taken an oath to do THAT, comrade.
Our forefathers participated in a violent insurrection against a tyrant, knowing that THEY faced execution, too. When you have RIGHT on your side, you fight.
