The gun arrived yesterday. It is absolutely beautiful with its deep polished blue finish! The exterior of the gun is almost flawless, and no way would you think this gun is 41 - 45 years old. I haven't shot it yet just because it IS so damn pretty and pristine.
The trigger pull is a bit heavier than I like, but the single action break is as smooth as glass. I'm thinking of getting a set of lower powered mainipring and 3 different weights of rebound springs from Wolf.
Congrats! Always nice to take possession of a safe queen!! Yeah, but it goes against my grain. Guitars were built to be played; guns were built to be shot.

Yeah, but it goes against my grain. Guitars were built to be played; guns were built to be shot.
Just sayin' it's nice to get one to start with, dork. Shoot it, enjoy it! And therein lies my dilemma. It's so pretty I don't want to shoot it, but I MUST shoot it. Shooting it won't hurt the finish, though, other than eventually wearing a cylinder stop ring around the cylinder. If it is well timed, that ring won't get too bad. And a little Birchwood Casey cold blue can always help make the ring less noticeable.
I did order the light set of Wolf springs yesterday, so they ought to be here pretty soon. My older brother just went nuts over Jerry Miculek's grips for his Model 25, which I think is chambered in .45 Colt, but might be .45ACP. Of course the Colt cylinder can handle the ACP's. I'm pretty sure this is the set he got, since I can't just hop in the car and drive to Dallas every time something new gets acquired. miculek.com/products/miculek-sw-revolver-grip-w-miculek-crosshair-sight-logoNow he's considering another set for his Smith Model 15, if they are scaled down for the smaller K frame.
Right now, I'm planning on meeting my granddaughter and her boyfriend at the range on Sunday. He just picked up a Tisas 1911 and hasn't tried it out yet. I have to break my granddaughter of being afraid of recoil more potent than 9MM. I'll let make her shoot some full-house .357 loads, and after that, the .45ACP is a pussycat. I will also have some normal .38's and even .38 wadcutters to put through the 19. .357 ammo is much too expensive to simply put some holes in a paper target. Yes, I reload .38 AND .357, but primers are scarce, and THEY are very pricey, too. You can get the containers, the fuel, and the parts that make trouble, but the spark plug thingys are the fly in the ointment.

Nice! I think I'll get one of those for my K frame. Only question is, checkered or smooth?

Nice! I think I'll get one of those for my K frame. Only question is, checkered or smooth? That would be a totally personal choice. My SA revolvers and one or two of my 1911's have smooth grips. All the rest of my handguns, IIRC, have checkered grips. I'm not going to dig them all out to refresh my memory.
IMHO, SA revolvers should have ONLY smooth grips, for "that look." All the others come down to what they came from the factory with in most instances.
I'm sure the Miculek grips either way will serve you well.
