A few volleyball attendance records will be worth keeping an eye on as ticket sales begin. The largest-ever crowd for an NCAA volleyball match is 18,755 when Nebraska played Wisconsin on Dec. 18, 2021 in the NCAA Final at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Nice event. I hope it will be successful. Neb and Wisky have developed a nice rivalry in WVB. I think Wisky leads the NCAA in reg season WVB attendance. And in WH. Nice adds, both, to the Athletic Dept revenue. Nebraska plays its home games in an 8,000 or so seat arena. They might play one game a season in Pinnacle Bank Arena. No shortage of money in Neb. If the AD pulls and tugs. Wisky had Herb Kohl and Bud Selig, who btw were roommates and frat brothers at Wisconsin, along w an AD who bought in and cranked many arms, both individual and corporate. Let’s not think Nebraska has that much money. They aren’t Ohio St or Michigan when it comes to the color of money. |
