“House Oversight Republicans laid out their intention to accuse President Joe Biden of corruption even without direct evidence that he financially benefited from Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings, a clear shift in their strategy that they said was launched to investigate the president,” CNN reports.

“The new strategy is highlighted in a memo released by the committee on Wednesday.”

“The memo follows the increasing drumbeat from many House Republicans – and certainly the GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump – to pursue impeachment of the sitting president even without a clear establishment of facts.”

On Tuesday morning, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer sat down with the “Fox & Friends” co-hosts to talk about his favorite subject: his obsessive-but-failed investigations into President Joe Biden. Fox News’ Steve Doocy, who’s noticed the Kentucky Republican’s inability to produce any meaningful evidence, asked the congressman what crime he thinks the president might’ve committed.

“Well, the crime is that, trading policy for money,” Comer replied. When Doocy asked the obvious follow-up question — what “policy” are we talking about — the committee chairman added, “Well, we’re gonna get into that.”

We are? That’s great news. I’ve been waiting all year for Comer and his cohorts to “get into that,” and it was reassuring to know that this is poised to happen.

Except, of course, it’s not. The Oversight Committee chairman released a new memo yesterday, and as Politico reported, it included as much evidence against the president as all of his earlier memos — which is to say, none.

Earlier Thursday, Comer indicated the Bidens eventually will be called to testify before the committee. But he told "The Chris Salcedo Show" the committee needs to bolster an already solid case before that can happen.

"We have a few more associates to talk to," Comer said. "We're trying to get a few more of the shell company bank records. Once we do that, I think we've made the case. I think we've already made the case now, but it's only going to be a stronger case that we need to see [Joe Biden's] bank records. They're going to be given an opportunity to be transparent with the American people.


"Remember, Joe Biden said he was going to be the most transparent president in the history of the United States. Joe Biden was cheering the Democrats all along the way when they released Donald Trump's tax returns.

"So all we want to see are some bank records that we think could answer some questions we have as to whether or not Joe Biden was a direct beneficiary of some of these shady payments from foreign nationals that were sent to at least nine of his family members. So that's the path we're going."

Curious why you seem to think Comer’s unsubstantiated statements hold water.

Him saying…”we have a solid case” doesn’t actually mean they have a solid case. It may. It may not. It would help if he actually showed us something concrete that was unmistakable. But he hasn’t. The fact that he’s telling you that they want to see bank records tells me that he doesn’t have what he’s claiming. He’s got a lot of innuendo. A lot of circumstantial stuff. But it is circumstantial stuff that can show shady dealings, or just a scoundrel son.

At what point will it switch from “hasn’t” to “can’t” for you?

From what I have read, it sounds like investment banker (and substance abuser) Hunter Biden has been involved in a number of squalid business deals in which his associates have received very little for their money. He is a troubled individual, who lost his mother in a tragic car accident at a young age, and got involved with drugs in his teens.

His dad loves him, and tried to raise him the best he could as a single parent, while serving as a U.S. Senator, with help from his (Joe's) sister.

The piece that is consistently missing from the GOP House Shit Show is any evidence that Joe Biden was involved in, or profited from, his son's investment banking deals.

And that is what Joe has said from the get go-- that his son's business deals were always strictly off limits for him-- as an elected U.S. official.

Joe Biden isn't Donald Trump. He's telling the truth.

And the Republicons are simply repeating the lies and innuendoes, assuming that their supporters will mistake them for the truth.

I'm not ignoring it. Just the opposite. I am asking Comer to show it to me. So far, "We're not there yet" and "we're going to be looking into that." is all I've gotten from him.
