LOLOL Let's have a playoff, y'all said. It'll be great. No more arguing over who's really #1. Well, there ya go. You all got what you wanted. I never wanted any of this. I come from a time where bowl games are played and we spend 8 months arguing about what it means. This idea of trying to definitively deciding who is #1 is, IMO, a fools errand. I too miss those days. So many discussions about which league was tougher, would this team beat that team, etc. Sees as solid then as what we do now. But, of course, since it's FSU getting screwed I'm good.😁

The players are seeing the current bowls as the crass commercialization of college football that they are, which is why no player with any hope of playing on Sunday is ever going to play in just about any of these games. Why would anyone endanger their future career so some promoter can make a buck? Back in the day, there were maybe 10 bowl games, and even then, most thought THAT was too many. you know, I could not possibly disagree more. we hear about the minority of players who are transferring (that window should be shut til after the bowl season, btw) or those who are opting out. the majority of player are not. that same majority is not moving on to the nfl, and therefore are typically more excited for a post-season trip, and if they're in their last season, excited about the final game of their football career. I love the expanded opportunity more kids have today for a fun finale, and the shot of ending their college days with a win. I totally agree with you. What I take with is the notion that a kid should put a career in the NFL at risk. I love the bowls, but don't tell me some kid is some sort of traitor to his team if he does not play in the postseason.

Do you see why nobody understands you? My comment was aimed at NFL bound players only. In that regard, my original comment stands. No kid needs to or should endanger his pro career in whichever Weed-Eater Bowl his team is playing in. You can make an argument to play in the bigger bowls, but even then it is understadable not to. Mscott's clarification was a good one. Sorry you cannot follow along.

"It was the Gnarly Bowel Pepto Bismol Bowl, held the week after our regular season. Both teams got to wear pink shoes for the game and to take a tour of a real Texas chili factory. As the winning team, we also got a case of Pepto Bismol to help us recover from the factory tour."
