8 years with Cleveland and 11 years in NY with a world series win....I can see him going in as a Yankee. at first inclination, I'm not sure if cc has the numbers/results to warrant hof. he was good, no doubt. but all time great? not sure about that. IMO, CC is right there. He finished with 251 wins, over 3000 K's and a lifetime WAR of 62.3. The average WAR of Hall of Famers, according to my Google search, is about 60. So I have to think he has a good shot. Maybe not in his first year but surely withing two to five years on the ballot. A side note, he was with the Indians when they trained in Winter Haven and a friend of mines son, a big high school baseball but not good enough to go o, went to UF for sports PT and went to work for the Indians. He and CC became good friends and he was CC's personal PT to work with for a while.

He and CC became good friends and he was CC's personal PT to work with for a while. his first season w/cleveland in '01 was simply magical, going 17-5. his last full season w/the tribe in '07, his cy young year, 19-7 but he got hammered in 2 starts against boston in the al championship series when the red sox came back from 3-1 down outscoring cleveland 30-5 in those last 3 games. take out those 2 great years, and I think cc went 70-60 during his time on the north coast. btw, those 2 best seasons cc had were the only times cleveland made the playoffs during his time there from '01-'08 mid season. except for the couple years where he battled injuries and alcohol issues in nyc, he was a better pitcher w/the yankees. love the guy, and wish he had stayed in town. it'd be thrilled to see him in cooperstown... maybe you guys are right. hope so.

DKTR!! With the passing of Willie Mays, the Rock is the last survivor of the origianl HR Derby... Loved that show when I was a kid. I've seen a few reruns of it as an adult and wow, you can't go back. Seeing these guys who you understand as an adult were hard drinking partiers and watching them on television giving the "wow, that turn was just swell Bobby" was kind of hilarious.

Several years ago, I was on a board here (Yahoo sports, I think it was) where some woman started a fan club. Of course I joined...turned out that she used to babysit for Rocky & Carmen when she was a teen....but anyways, I think it was about the last time we talked about this...<g> Again, if it wasn't for Colavito, I wouldn't have become a baseball fan, I don't think.
