What you are really asking is the president shielded from illegal acts not part of his official duties as president. The answer is no. The SCOTUS gave a wide shield of immunity for acts related to the presidency, but a president can't go kill anyone on the street corner and get away with it. THAT is the democrat talking point concern, isn't it? That crapola line of thought is over now that Biden's lawfare against Trump has failed. Let us examine your assertion that a POTUS could not legally shoot someone on the street. I agree with that. He would and should be held accountable. But like any criminal who violates federal law, a POTUS can pardon that criminal. Meanwhile, SCOTUS has not ruled that a self pardon is unconstitutional. So I repeat the Q, with a variation. Would you agree or disagree with a SCOTUS decision that a POTUS can legally pardon himself as part of his enumerated constitutional powers? Only if the murder actually occurred of federal land. If he shot someone on the streets of the US it would be a state charge and he would not be able to pardon.

That does not address the Q unless you are saying he should be able to pardon himself for a murder on federal land.

The power to pardon is a presidential core power. As written I don't think the SCOTUS could rule that it was intended he could not pardon himself. The worst that could happen would be impeachment. I'd hope no matter the party, the entire Congress would be all in on removing a murderer from office. IMO, we would need a Constitutional amendment to specify that a president may not pardon himself.

Seems to me what we have here is a toxic troll convicting President Trump of a crime he'll never commit. Sort of similar to cameltoe wanting to tax income we never made. These people are truly defective.
