Clemson's "body of work?" Georgia-yes, but FCS football school South Carolina State University-no. That's just silly

I don't see Miami at #2 at all. The gators were probably the most overrated team in the nation who isn't Southern Cal. Everything else I'm ok with. I will say, however, that I think a team that's won the last two national titles with blowout wins over undefeated #1 ranked teams deserves a bit more respect than this dude gives them.

USC has a completely rebuilt Oline that is going to take some time to gel...They already run block pretty well, but have yet to figure out pass-blocking assignments which is always the last thing an OLine masters.....Then, they have a QB....(well, they have a few guys that take snaps that are called that anyway), that has yet to figure out college football but can only improve, (because we've already seen the worst college QB ever....actually, two of them). But the D looks stout, especially the front 7, (#1 in the nation against the Run so far this season) and they do have talent, so a #25 rank to start the season wasn't THAT crazy.

I admit I still have a bad taste in my mouth about them being ranked #1 preseason over BAMA last year. That cost the Tide a stat (number of times ranked #1) and you know how I like my historical stats....

I certainly don't agree w/all of doug's rankings, but he is pretty open about trying to start his season w/a clean slate, balancing how good a team appears with how significant their wins have been. That probably means his ranking will vary week to week more than most, since he adds more weight to quality wins. if the tide takes care of business in college station, i'm sure he'll send more love your way. mark scott tosu 81

It just makes his ballot look like a sagarin poll, that's all. Luckily enough voters have the intelligence needed to evaluate a team based on more than just simply a scoreboard.

I would have had them down for a win in two of those three for sure. Oh well. Yes, if the Canes lose one of those two Golden deserves the ridicule. USF is as poorly coached team as I have seen in my 40+ years.
