"Why are you holding my hand?"
"Where's your other hand?"
"Between two pillows..."
"Those aren't pillows!
Ok girls....no Thursday game this week....but be prepared because without a doubt, there will be 2 Thursday night game picks for next week....so don't wait until the last minute on Friday, or you'll start out 0-2.
However, that is next week and this week is this week. On we go...
Miami +21 at Florida State. The only true "big" game of the week, and it is a 3 touchdown spread. Miami has climbed to #7 mainly by virtue of everyone in front of them losing. I feel very confident that Miami loses. But by more than 3 touchdowns? Umm...yeah. FSU is good this year. Canes aren't there yet. Noles.
Georgia -2 1/2 v. Florida. The World's Largest Outdoor MASH unit. Hawkeye and Pierce are going to duke it out to see who gets Hot Lips Houlihan. This is a tough one to call. I thought UF's defense quit against Mizzou, but they'll be up for this game. Murray should be good enough to get it done though. Bulldogs.
Michigan +5 at Michigan State. Michigan State has found its sealegs, blowing the doors off Illinois last week. Michigan is still sort of floundering around. Sparty's defense is far and away good enough to win. Spartans.
Oklahoma State +2 at Texas Tech. Tech's dreams of an undefeated season were dashed by the Sooners last week, and now they have to regroup and beat a decent OSU squad at home. Oklahoma State is entering a brutal final month wherein they play Tech, Texas, Baylor, and Oklahoma. Yay. I think they pull the upset on the road though. Cowpokes.
USC +5 at Oregon State. The Beaver was stuffed by the Tree last week. USC is good on defense, although shallow as a mudpuddle. Mannion is solid, and they have arguably the best receiver in the nation. I'll take the Beav at home. THIS IS A FRIDAY GAME!!!!
Wisconsin -10 at Iowa. A couple of big, slow, bruising Big 10 teams are going to pound on each other for 60 minutes. Badgers.
Auburn -8 at Arkansas. Arkansas has played 4 ranked teams in a row, and Auburn will be its 5th, including 3 top ten opponents (rank at game time). They've lost all of them, and haven't been competitive in the last 3. Auburn is rolling. Tigers.
Virginia Tech -4 1/2 at Boston College. The Hokies, stunned at home by Duke, for their first road win against a ranked opponent since 1971. Yes kids, that's over 40 years. The Gobblers are putrid on offense. Boston College will provide a challenge to that stout defensive line. I like this game to be close. I'll take Boston College and the points.
Boise State -7 at Colorado State. Yeah, it isn't a Big 5 matchup, but sometimes we have to step out of the box. Colorado State has won 3 of its last 4, and has been competitive in just about every game they've played this year. I really have no idea. The voodoo lady is telling me Boise State.
Northwestern +7 at Nebraska. Seeds and stems, guys. Nebraska is teetering on the edge of collapse after getting trounced by Minnihaha last week. I'll take the Mildcats.
I anxiously await all of your wrong picks.

Finally a winning week last week. lets hope we continue it.
Miami FL +21 at Florida St (Clemson is better than Miami and FSU beat them by a lot) FLORIDA STATE
Georgia -2.5 at Florida (this game is so hard to pick, UGA is playing water boys at this point and Florida has been so unimpressive this year.) FLORIDA
TSUN +5 at Michigan St (Its the winner gets to play Ohio St in the big 10 title game bowl. Since its in East Lansing) MICHIGAN STATE
Oklahoma State +2 at Texas Tech (Wow, Ok St is the underdog? really?) OKLAHOMA STATE
USC +5 at Oregon State (Can I hope that Oregon St wins by a lot???) OREGON STATE
Wisconsin -10 at Iowa (Iowa has been playing much better this year, but Wisconsin is on a roll) WISCONSIN
Auburn -8 at Arkansas (Why did you pick this game??) AUBURN
Virginia Tech -4.5 at Boston College (Tough pick, VT just lost to Duke and BC either shows up or gets killed) BOSTON COLLEGE
Boise St -7 at Colorado St (Um...ok....was it a slim pickins on games this week?) BOISE STATE
Northwestern +7 at Nebraska (Its the Who has given up more on their season bowl) NEBRASKA
There ya go

I anxiously await all of your wrong picks. i miss john candy. lol wrong picks below... miami fl +21 at florida st. largest point spread in a top 10 matchup in 30+ years. canes have looked shaky, noles unstoppable lately. but miami has covered 6 of the last 7 in tallahassee, they're 5-3 the last 8 games as +10/up, fsu just 1-5 in its last 6 acc games as -20+. no doubt about the talent edge, but i think 3 td's is 1 too many. miami georgia -2.5 vs florida. national significance may have waned, but this game still has great meaning. uga has the better o, but i like better d's when they're getting points. florida. michigan +5 at michigan st. um just 4-9 as road dogs the last 4 years. msu 1-10 as home chalk. but sparty has dominated the series recently, covering 5 straight and winning 4 of 5, plus they should have won last year too. they're d is real good. i keep going back and forth on this, but i'll take sparty. michigan st. oklahoma st. +2 at texas tech. tech just 2-9 as home favorites, but i think they bounce back from the oklahoma loss. texas tech. usc +5 at oregon st. i was pretty unimpressed watching the beavers' qb, mannion, saturday night vs stanford. usc has not done well in corvallis, but that's always been as the favorite. i'll take the points. usc. wisconsin -10 at iowa. the badgers are iowa, with better skill players on offense. but the hawks have historically played uw tough. only 2 of the last 10 games have been decided by more than 10 points, and iowa was the winner in those. uw gets a scare. iowa. auburn -8 at arkansas. hogs have been outscored 17-134 by uf, gamecocks and tide the last 3 games, but off a bye and having won 4 of the last 5 vs war eagle, i think this is a good spot for them. au hasn't been a sec road favorite in 3 years. bielema gets league win #1 in a huge surprise. arkansas. va tech -4.5 at boston col. bc's covered 5 of 6 at home vs the gobblers, and vt is just 3-9 as road chalk in their last 12 games. but this line is lower because of the duke loss, and vt's turnovers caused that. i think they take care of the ball, and hence the eagles. va tech. boise st. -7 at colorado st. for the first time in over a decade, bsu's talent level has slipped. that combined w/losing their qb for the season makes life tougher. csu is 20-5 ats w/revenge after a good (35+) offensive game. ram tough. colorado st. n'western +7 at nebraska. lol on the seeds/stems reference. of course i have NO idea what that means. both teams have qb's battling injuries, but i think the wildcats actually have the better d. dicey lean here to northwestern, even though they haven't covered a game since labor day weekend. mark scott tosu 81

ED, did you change your picks? No, but ET did: Changed to Georgia with the announcement this afternoon that UF's starting OLT is out up to 4 weeks. Changed to Virginia Tech - Boston College isn't as good as TYHNC said they were earlier in the year. Virginia Tech is still in the hunt for their division title so they are likely more motivated after losing to the dookies last weekend.

Rainy day in St L. Voodoo Lab doesn't mind swimming and walking in water but she dislikes rain and the water hose. Tuff day to divine the picks and it took awhile. She intuitively knows my dislike for all things Nebackdoor, so she peed on the Home dummy before bringing it to me. Fortunately it was the last group of dummies.
Florida State -21
Georgia -2 1/2
Michigan State -5
Texas Tech -2
Oregon State -5
Iowa -10
