TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl Georgia -8 1/2 vs. Nebraska. couple teams who have to be disappointed they ended up w/a rematch from last year's cap one bowl. uga scored last 22 pts to win that one. so many injuries thru the year for uga... and unl's main problem all season was turnovers. injuries you can't fix, turnovers you can. i think the huskers will and keep it close. nebraska. Heart of Dallas Bowl North Texas -6 1/2 vs. UNLV. big edge in coaching imho to north texas, since mccartney was at iowa st. plus ntu is within an hour of dallas, so a virtual home field edge too. north texas. Capital One Bowl South Carolina +1 vs. Wisconsin. badgers off an embarrassing loss to psu; carolina off a deceptive win over clemson where the tigers turned it over 6 times. i really think uw is the better team here... should be fun watching their rush attack vs the gamecock d-line. wisconsin. Outback Bowl Iowa +8 vs. LSU. trenches will be fun to watch in this one... both teams' lines are really really good. if mettenberger was playing i'd be all over lsu... but w/him out and jennings in, big ?. lsu's skill people should still be good enough to win, but 8 is a point too much. iowa. Rose Bowl Game Michigan State +6 1/2 vs. Stanford. maybe the most attractive matchup outside the bcs title game. 2 physical teams. but one's in it's 4th straight bcs bowl game, the other is making it's first appearance in pasadena since reagan was in the white house. stanford's pass d is much better than osu's, and their run d is similar. i just don't see cook having the success he had in indy 3 weeks ago. plus the big 10 is just 1-9 it's last 10 rose bowls. hope i'm wrong here, but sparty hangs around til a late cardinal td clinches a 10 pt win. stanford. Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Baylor -16 1/2 vs. UCF. first mtg, first bcs bowl for both. o'leary and briles have done outstanding jobs at these 2 schools. you wonder if the bears' o might lose some timing w/the layoff. but ucf gave up 30+ to not just l'ville, but teams like psu and temple. 16 is a lot to give, but i think the knights will have their hands full. baylor. Allstate Sugar Bowl Alabama -16 1/2 vs. Oklahoma. 2 historic programs, but they're on different levels right now. ou finished well after getting blown out by baylor; tide cruised all season til the last second on the plains. again a ton of points to give, but i think the sooners start feeling the physical avalanche of a pissed off team that is looking to exact revenge for auburn. alabama. AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic Missouri PK vs. Oklahoma State. cowboys had a nice win streak going vs mizzou before they left for the sec. great run by pinkel this year, but auburn exposed their d more than i thought they would. osu knows they threw away their game vs ou, and get a chance for rectification. oklahoma state. Discover Orange Bowl Clemson +2 1/2 vs. Ohio State. i think you could argue that osu is better than clemson in every area but 2; wr's and db's. unfortunately, our db's have to cover watkins, bryant et al. that's scary. bucks beat oregon a few years ago in pasadena by controlling the clock and keeping the ducks o on the bench. hyde, miller and that o line are good enough to do that. aren't they? lol. a shaky nod to ohio state. BBVA Compass Bowl Houston + 2 1/2 vs. Vanderbilt. love what franklin's done at vandy, but their 8-4 record this year was a little misleading imho. beat uga when 1/2 the dawgs were in the hospital, got outgained 2x1 by uf but benefitted from 4 to's, got a fortunate call reversal vs tennessee, needed a last second fg to beat wake forest. good offenses really hurt the 'dores, and the cougars have one. upset. houston. GoDaddy Bowl Arkansas State +8 vs. Ball State. normally i go against teams like ark st who've lost their head coach. but it's par for the course for the red storm, who've been to 3 straight bowl games in mobile, all w/interim coaches. their qb can run or pass well. letterman u had a great year, but 8 is too many. arkansas state. BCS National Championship Game Florida State -7 1/2 vs. Auburn. both schools are traveling over 2200 miles for this one. thought that was an interesting tidbit. only oregon st and boise st went further, for their game in hawaii. so, is it better to be really good? or good and lucky? watching what happened w/osu all season in '02, i don't discount fortune one bit. auburn has that destiny feeling. not to mention a running game that's darn near tough to stop and a pass 'attack' that al1 says is illegal, even though they only average 109/game. noles have killed everyone, but played no one close to as good as the tigers. it's tough for me to get over war eagle's d, though, which is giving up 425 ypg. i think that keeps au from winning, but their rush game is good enough to keep winston et al off the field long enough to keep it in question. auburn. mark scott tosu 81 Read more: aolcfboutcasts.proboards.com/thread/8922/founded-germans#ixzz2ozHQCetJ
