Three game suspension from AU's upcoming home series with UGALY this weekend. Tim Walton released a statement today in which he said he tapped her on the shoulder as her hand wasn't there, he had no intention to upset her, and he's sorry what happened detracted from a great weekend series. It's in AU's court, but I wouldn't let Haley Fagan get away with that unacceptable behavior without punishment of some sort. And if you don't think he was culpable, you're blind. ^5 involves eye contact w a nice job. He blew her off because he has an issue w the dad. The man needs some adult lessons. Bullshit. The Fagan's are nothing but trouble wherever they are. Tim Walton is one of the best coaches in any sport. Haley Fagan is just more of the same that got her two sisters kicked off the team at UF in 2012 when UF was the #5 national seed. It cost UF that season, but 2 national championships later, it was the right thing to do. Shame on AU if they don't punish her unacceptable behavior.

Haley should have never turned around. Just kept steppen. He and the helicopter dad have a history, which is why he tanked her sisters. Nothing sandwich.Bullshit X2. What Walton did was far from hitting that sorry ass bitch. Put your damn hand up for the after game high 5 tap or get out of the line altogether. You don't shove the UF HC in the back and make a scene on the field overplaying what happened.

The less than adult H/C looked beyond her and threw a flailing right hand at her. He was being a dick. Fortunately he didn't hit her in another part of her body. What she did isn't my point. He was being a dick and got lucky he didn't hit her in the boob. Obviously you've never been in that kind of line.

The point is her shove in the back and following nasty scene for all to see compared to his shoulder tap on the shoulder. We'll have to agree to disagree because this is all about her overreaction and then lying to her coach about Walton shoving her. That behavior is acceptable to you, but not to me. Everybody in softball can breathe a sigh of relief when the last Fagan moves out of playing status. Unfortunately, Haley's toxic sister is a grad assistant at AU. Anybody that hires her later is a fool.

The HC used extremely poor judgement. The reaction, Nationwide, would have been entertaining to watch, had he hit her boob. ET's position was predictable. He's CWG lite. Easy on the sugar.

BIG fans that are full of shit. That's nothing new. Taking a stand against the best coach in college softball is stupid to the extreme.
Oh sure, a redshirt senior bent on causing trouble is blameless while the coach is at fault. Really? You can't do better than speculate about what if he had tapped her boob. Get a life.

Where did I say the "sorry ass bitch" was blameless? Classy of you, by the way. They both acted like idiots and they both probably deserved to get their ass beat for it. He knew the situation beforehand and still intentionally put his hands on her. That isn't acceptable even without the history between the parties. She responded like an arrogant woman who knows someone won't hit her for showing her ass. They were both way out of bounds but in the grand scheme of things, it isn't that big a deal. Unfortunately, you only see one side of that which is unfortunate yet oh so typical.

Never said she wasn't complicit BUT she's a fifth yr college student and he's an adult leader. He didn't act like an adult leader. And he knows it. And now has come forward to act like an adult leader.Florida coach Tim Walton issued an apology to Auburn shortstop Haley Fagan for his part in a postgame pushing exchange between the two following Monday night's game in Gainesville. "I apologize to Haley," Walton said in a statement released by Florida Tuesday morning. "I just wanted to congratulate Auburn on the win - it was a good series.

Really? You can't do better than speculate about what if he had tapped her boob. Get a life. That's all I'd need. Had he touched her breast, he would have been suspended. Period. Male 44 tr old adult coach and a college female athlete? Gone for a bit. And would have been sent to the blackboard to write, "I will watch where my hands go in the vicinity of college female athletes", one hundred times.

Gators run rule Bethune Cookman 15-7 giving true freshman Katie Chronister the pitching outing to gain experience:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida softball team pounded out 15 runs in a five-inning run-rule victory over Bethune-Cookman Wednesday, March 29 at KSP Stadium. Freshman pitcher Katie Chronister picked up her second victory of the season in the 15-7 decision.
The Gators (30-2, 7-1 SEC) dropped behind early 3-0 in the contest to the Wildcats (12-24) after a pair of uncommon errors by the UF defense.
Florida immediately responded with nine runs on eight hits in the bottom of the first to take the lead 9-3. A pair of three-run home runs by freshman Jordan Roberts and junior Nicole DeWitt highlighted the inning, it was the fifth home run of the season for both Roberts and DeWitt.
Senior Chelsea Herndon also provided a two-run double and fellow senior Justine McLean ripped an RBI single. All runs scored in the inning came with two outs in the inning.
Roberts tallied her fourth RBI of the game in the very next inning with an RBI double down the left field line to score junior Aleshia Ocasio. McLean recorded her first career SAC fly in the inning, DeWitt recorded her fourth RBI with a bases loaded walk and junior Kayli Kvistad tallied an RBI single to right field to extend the lead to 13-3.
The Gators scored their 14th unanswered run of the contest when sophomore Brooke Clemens sent a line drive over the wall in left field for her first career home run.
The Wilcats responded in the top of the fourth inning with four runs to close down the Gators lead to 14-7 on a pair of two RBI singles from Brianna Sanders and Yvonne Siordia.
Florida extended its lead back out to eight runs, 15-7, as freshman Jacqui Switzer scored from third on a passed ball. Switzer reached with a bunt single to start the bottom of the fourth.
Kelly Barnhill came in relief of Chronister in the top of the fifth inning to shut the door on Bethune-Cookman. Barnhill recorded three-straight strikeouts to finish off the game.
Coaches Corner
The takeaway from tonight's midweek game…
"We were able to get a lot of people some at-bats and was able to use our depth to get more people some game experience tonight. I was happy to get everyone out there to contribute and to be honest with you, just being able to get the whole club out there on the field was good."
From the Players
On using this win to gain back momentum…
"Yes, so each game is a game in its own. We take each game with importance. No one game is greater than the next. So just really focusing on them and now shift our focus on Arkansas as we take on them this Friday." – Kayli Kvistad

Game Recap: Softball | Friday, March 31, 2017 | Herb Brooks
Big Inning Lifts Gators Over Razorbacks
Next Game: at Arkansas 4/1/2017 - 2 PM WGGG (92.1 FM/1230 AM) & WMOP (100.1 FM/900 AM) SEC Network +
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It was a historic day for the University of Florida softball program as it earned its 1,000th victory in a 6-1 effort over Arkansas in the initial game of the series Friday, March 31 at Bogle Park.
Kelly Barnhill (12-0) pitched the Gators (31-2, 8-1 SEC) to victory over the Razorbacks (22-10, 2-8 SEC) and freshman Jaimie Hoover's career day at the plate brought the Florida offense to life.
Florida scored all six of its runs in the top of the fourth inning of play.
Hoover notched a career-high three hits (3-for-4) in the effort while she also produced an RBI and a run scored. Two of her three hits came in the top of the fourth inning where the Gators plated all six of their runs.
The Suwanee, Ga. Native led off the inning with a sharply hit single through the right site of the Razorback defense and later pushed across the sixth run of the game with an RBI single through the left side of the defense to bookend inning.
Between the hot bat of Hoover in the fourth, Florida plated its first runs of the game on a two-run double from freshman Jordan Roberts that scored both Hoover and Janell Wheaton.
The double to the wall in right field prompted a pitching change for the Razorbacks as Arkansas immediate brought in Grace Moll to relieve starter Caroline Hedgcock (0-2).
Sophia Reynoso brought home the third run of the game with her SAC bunt, which scored pinch runner Alex Voss from third base.
Amanda Lorenz cranked her fifth home run of the season two batters later to extend the lead out to 5-1.
The Gators return to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. (ET). Fans can listen along with the action with Ryan Urquhart (play-by-play) & Kelsey Horton on WGGG (92.1 FM/1230 AM) & WMOP (100.1 FM/900 AM).
Coaches Corner On the program reaching the 1,000 win milestone… "To win that many games in just twenty and a half seasons, it's just really a nice accomplishment for everybody that has played at the University of Florida. All of the Gators that have come through here and graduated can all share a piece of that victory tonight." On the big fourth inning against Arkansas… "You really have to give Jaimie Hoover some credit; I thought she did a good job. We weren't really seeing the ball very well and I thought her at-bats were pretty important – not only her at-bat in the second (inning) but the at-bat to leadoff the fourth and when she turned the lineup over. It was good to see Jaimie get some hits. Obviously I moved her up to the four-hole so we saw something this week but I'm really just happy with our resiliency to just grind out some good at-bats." Notables Florida recorded the program's 1,000th victory since the program started in 1997. Amanda Lorenz continued her reached base streak and extended it out to 33 games. She also hit her 5th home run of the season which is tied for the team lead. Jaimie Hoover recorded a career-high three hits in the contest.

4.1.2017
Gators run rule piggies 8-0 in 5 inning after taking the opener yesterday 6-1. The finale is Sunday afternoon at 2 PM ET and can be seen on SEC Network+:
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Florida softball team clinched the series over Arkansas with an 8-0 victory in five innings during game two Saturday, April 1. The Gators plated eight runs on seven hits while the team only left one runner stranded on the day.
The Gators (32-2, 9-1 SEC) offense stayed poised and precise for the entire duration of the contest and struck early when Kayli Kvistad singled up the middle to score Amanda Lorenz. Kvistad, a 2016 second team NFCA All-American, finished the day going 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs.
Freshman Jordan Roberts continued her impressive inaugural collegiate campaign with a 1-for-2 day at the plate, which included a SAC fly in the first that scored Nicole DeWitt and an errant throw up the line sailed into the Arkansas (22-11, 2-9 SEC) dugout, which allowed fellow freshman Jaimie Hoover to score from second base.
Hoover's production continued to rise as she drove in her 35th RBI of the season on a fielder's choice to second base that resulted in DeWitt crossing home plate.
Florida put the game away in the top of the fifth inning thanks to a pair of timely hits from Kvistad and Roberts. Kvistad ripped her third single of the game to score senior Justine McLean and Roberts unloaded the bases with her team-leading sixth home run of the season. The three-run home run pushed her to her ninth multi-RBI game of the year and her second four RBI game.
Senior Delanie Gourley (12-2) was just as efficient and effective in the circle as she only allowed a pair of Razorback hits in her seventh shutout of the season. The 2016 NFCA First-Team All-American, struck out six Arkansas batter and issued no free passes on just 56 total pitches, 41 of which went for strikes.
Coaches Corner
On the team's presence at the plate during today's game…
"I thought we were very efficient today - obviously with our ability to hit with runners in scoring position but we're also dynamic with other parts of our offense like being able to hit and run, steal and put down bunts. We were able to do a lot of things efficiently today both offensively and defensively. Delanie (Gourley) pitched a good game and kept everybody in the ball game. It was a very, very fast pace." - Tim Walton

Gators sweep piggies 6-1, 8-0, and 6-1 - North Florida next up at mid week followed by a Saturday, Sunday, and Monday series against UGALY.
The schedule is real good right now as UF is looking for payback against the poodles for being eliminated by them in the Gainesville regional last season. After that, FSU comes to Gainesville for a mid week game. The nolies have been #1 or #2 most of the season:
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In a near mirror image of the series opener, the No. 24 University of Arkansas softball team lost to second-ranked Florida, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon at Bogle Park. Junior Autumn Russell collected the 100th hit of her career and scored the Razorbacks’ run to give the home team an early lead. With Sunday’s result, Arkansas is now 22-12 overall and 2-10 in SEC play.
The first three innings of the game featured a pitcher’s duel between Arkansas’ Autumn Storms and Florida’s Kelly Barnhill before the Razorbacks broke through in the home half of the fourth. Leading off the frame, Russell recorded the 100th hit of her career with a double to right field. She moved over to third on a ground ball to short. With two outs, A.J. Belans chopped a ball back to the pitcher but an errant throw to first allowed Russell to score.
Storms retired the first six hitters of the game but faced a two-on, one-out jam in the top of the third. However, senior catcher Shelby Hiers threw out her ninth base runner of the season for the second out. Storms got out of the inning with a grounder to second. However, Florida (33-2, 10-1 SEC) put together a five-run response in the top of the fifth inning to go ahead on the scoreboard. All five of the runs were scored with two outs including a two-run shot by Kayli Kvistad.
The visitors added another run in the sixth to produce the 6-1 final score.
Arkansas put a runner on base in each of the last two innings—double by Nicole Schroeder in the sixth and walk to Belans in the seventh—but weren’t able to cut into Florida’s advantage. Allison Stewart, the Razorbacks’ third pitcher of the game, kept the visitors off the scoreboard over the final 1.1 innings with the help of two strikeouts.
