Just a reminder...whether you collect wild asparagus like I do or buy it from the store, Spring means that fresh, local asparagus is available now at it's best price! Look up the recipe for Asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce on this board in March of last year!

Asparagus is my favorite vegetable, Robb. Used to grow it in the garden when i was a boy, but Colorado is NOT the Garden State. We would get a fairly paltry yield in late summer.
As for cooking it, my favorite method is to simply pan fry it in butter until bright green.

Robb, you have my sympathies. Do you ever get to eat properly cooked vegetables?

Yes....especially when I have dinner to myself. Personally, I like most of my veggies cooked just enough to be heated through, flavored and tenderized a bit.

Otherwise, she might come huntin' for you! (She actually has an incurable illness that pretty well prevents her from ever getting much over about 100 Lbs, so thunder-thighs ain't a problem with her.)

Robb,
He was insulting MY wife again. I bought her a treadmill to exercise on since her incurable disease (dermatomyocitis) means she has to severely limit her exposure to sunlight. He's done nothing but insult her as fat (which she is not) since I told him about the treadmill. It's nothing but jealousy over his own fat, sweatyness, which also happens to be incurable.
