not only did I find Wisconsin...........Wisconsin found #9 in the AP.
Wonder why it took the AP so long to find 'em in the first place? Bad showing the first week? Sometimes that will do it.

I think UF is close to becoming a top 10 team, just have to get the wins to prove it. Luke Del Rio is a fine QB who is growing into his starter role, the RBs go out to high quality 4 deep with a 5th back available if needed, the OL is much improved, TE runs 4 deep with quality, and the WR corps is probably the best it has been since 2009. The defense is awesome and deep and special teams are capable of being special minus too many penalties.
I watched a lot of the piggies at TCU. The piggies are good, UF will beat them in Fayetteville, but it was right to drop TCU from the rankings. The toady frogs aren't that good this season. TCU's best player is a sparkplug 5'3"/152 slot receiver and kick returner. Without him, TCU would probably be outside the top 40. With him, they almost beat a better piggy team at home.
Oregon is the TCU of the west coast. I don't know much about UNL, but a typically good husker team would beat the duckies. QB is not as good as previous seasons, the defense is porous, and the trench players are average.
This could be a long season for LSU and a final season for Les Miles. Brandon Harris gave way to another QB, LSU still didn't look good, and Leonard Fournette is already showing signs of protecting his NFL future sitting out a game he probably could have played in. Go Auburn Tigers!
Both Georgia and Tennessee looked overrated to me.
Walt, you may be right about the SEC as a whole being overrated this season. It's bama followed by everyone else. IMO, UF is the only team that stands a chance to knock bama out of the playoff, presuming UF wins the East which I do. However, I also think UF is a season away from being able to beat bama. UF doesn't have the quality depth yet to compete successfully with the top 5 teams in the nation.

You got that right. If history is any lesson, it will take at least 4 more weeks to expose the yearly overhype of the SEC. Still bitter about that embarrassing beat down 2 weeks ago? Not at all. USC was always going to need some balls to bounce their way to win that game, and the fact that the D stayed with Bama for a good while was actually encouraging. The Trojans are in their first season out of sanctions and don't have much depth. We all knew that, and Bama does. We all know that too. So the last part of the game was nearly predictable after we discovered that the USC Oline was not "all that". Frankly, it flipped the entire season's expectation for Trojan fans. USC's big Q-mark starting the season, we thought, was the D front 7, and they are now starting to be seen as the strength of the team, totally dominating a pretty good Utah St. offense. Meanwhile, what was thought to be its strength, the Front OLine, is suspect. For the second week in a row, the SC O-line has not looked at all like a dominating unit. Oh sure they took care of business against Utah State's D. But they didn't look terribly good to me in doing it. IMO, USC has enough youth at critical positions that this should be a season where they are playing much better later than earlier. Unfortunately, "earlier" meant Bama. ....and all that aside, I bet you know as well as I do which SEC teams in the top 25 today are the leading contenders as pretenders. Nichols State? Nichols, freakin' State? Really?

First weeks don't generally tell us much, (unless you're the Tide) and this particular second week was a REAAALLY stinky doormat weekend for just about everyone, (and even then it managed to raise eyebrows) So, we shall see how things develop. I think we will know a LOT more about contenders vs pretenders after next week.
