Good thread, fellas.
My observation is that something happened to Manning during the past few weeks. I know that he took some hard shots in the Denver- St. Louis game. The Broncos ended up losing that game to the Rams, and scored only 7 points. And this was a Denver offense that had been breaking records-- especially prior to last year's disastrous Super Bowl.
The story is he has had a torn quad for the last month. Yeah, Harry, I just saw the story this evening about Peyton Manning's torn quadriceps.* They are saying now that it happened in the San Diego game.
I knew something was wrong with Peyton Manning in recent weeks, but he and the Broncos were not talking about it publicly until today.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has played with a torn right quad for the last month, including during Sunday's playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The Broncos lost to the Colts 24-13 in the divisional round. Manning completed 26-of-46 passes for 211 yards and one touchdown and was sacked twice.
The 38-year-old originally tore his quad during a Dec. 14 win over the San Diego Chargers, reports Schefter, who said an MRI later confirmed the tear. The injury is specifically a torn rectus femoris, according to Schefter, and the "bruising was so severe it spread to back of his leg."

Eye would REALLY like to know what John Elway thinks about this whole thing...Manning still has 2 years left on his contract...UPDATE: Apparently so !!www.si.com/nfl/2015/01/13/denver-broncos-peyton-manning-return-john-elway?xid=aol_home

Elway, himself, had his two Super Bowl-winning seasons at the very end of his NFL career.

I would love to have him as my OC if I was HC, GM, or owner. Can you imagine with his game savy & knowledge? It is very rare that star players go into coaching. Their personality/make up seems to be more 'do' and less 'teach'. Maybe Peyton would be an exception, which would be fascinating to watch. If he was willing to put in the time to learn the fine points of running a large org, I believe he has the demeanor/intellect to be a GM/Pres of a FB club. Problem for most truly elite stars is the willingness to "start all over" to develop a new skill set. Not to terribly different than that star salesman who was a lousy manager/leader.
