Was 8 degrees this morning at 6 am. Started a pot of chili. Temp was 26 degrees at 11 am when it started snowing. High today was 28. By 6 pm it was 25 and snow finally stopped. Streets and roads all over north Alabama icy and slick. Made a skillet of cornbread to go with the chili. Was a very good cold weather dinner.
Going down to 15 degrees tonight. Streets and roads still slushy and freezing over.
Called around and found 15 coats, some sweaters, scarves, gloves and stocking caps. Called the Sheriffs Dept and they came by and picked them up. Deputies keep them in their trunks for people they find out in the cold that need them.

It's up to 72 here now... My sons and I are heading down to the Marsh walk. Can't wait till the temp holds at this for a week!
