With a 6-0 performance last week, the Gators wrapped up their California Spring Break trip 10-0, which included their second wins of the season over No. 2 Oregon (5-1) and No. 3 Michigan (7-4). They also topped Long Beach State (10-1), San Jose State (9-1), then-No. 13 Arizona (10-0) and Fresno State (4-1). The Ducks (20-3) went 4-1 at the Judi Garman Classic with their only defeat coming at the hands of the No. 1 Gators. Oregon posted victories over Pacific (9-7), Fresno State (3-0), Iowa (2-1) and Long Beach State (12-3). Michigan (22-3) remained at No. 3, but has some company as the only other undefeated program, LSU (25-0), moved up from No. 5 to tie the Wolverines in the rankings. After a 9-0 win over Cal State Fullerton, Michigan had its 19-game winning streak snapped at the Judi Garman Classic as it suffered a pair of losses to top-ranked Florida and then-No. 22 Arizona State (0-2 / 8 innings). Following those defeats, they rebounded with resounding triumphs over San Jose State (9-1), then-No. 9 Baylor (11-1) and San Diego State (10-2). The Tigers opened up SEC play at home with a dominating three-game sweep over Arkansas, outscoring the Razorbacks, 23-1 and also shut out Northwestern State (10-0) in a mid-week non-conference affair. Rounding out the top five is Alabama (18-4), which also rolled in its first SEC series, blanking Mississippi in a three-game set, 23-0. Oklahoma (18-3), Louisiana-Lafayette (17-3) and Georgia (21-3) remained No. 6-8 in the rankings, while Tennessee (16-3) makes its first appearance and Florida State (18-5) returns to the top-10 after 5-0 weekends. UAB and North Carolina State, tied for the 25th spot, enter the poll for the first time this season. The Blazers have won 12 straight and 15 of their last 16 games, while the Wolfpack are coming off a three-game ACC series-opening sweep of then-No. 23 Notre Dame. Sez you. OU is #6 in both polls. That's a strong consensus. I haven't seen the sooners yet so I can't comment about the fairness of #6. The getting it right was UF and LSU. The tiger team I saw Sunday against Arkansas is scary good. UF has probably played the strongest schedule in the nation so that #1 ranking for the defending national champion is well deserved. LSU visits UF this weekend with the Saturday and Sunday games being televised on the SEC Network at 1 PM EST on Saturday and 12 PM EST on Sunday.

Was just messing around. Historically, OU has very good softball program, so am hoping they can make a run at the title this year.

LSU Strengthens Hold on No. 1 in 2015 USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a 3-0 week, which included a pair of wins over No. 6 Oklahoma, LSU strengthened its hold on No. 1 in this week’s USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll, announced Tuesday by the Association.
After ascending to No. 1 for the first time in program history last week, the Tigers (30-1) received 30 of 32 possible first-place votes and 798 points to grab a firm hold of the top spot. LSU topped Nicholls, 6-1, in a mid-week affair and capped off its 3-0 week by edging the Sooners, 1-0, in the opener and a posting resounding 10-2 victory in the finale.
As with the top spot, the next five rankings remained the same. Oregon received a first-place vote and 758 points to continue its eight-week run, including preseason, in the No. 2 position. The Ducks (25-3) defeated Utah by the scores of 4-2 and 15-9 in the first two games of a three-game Pac-12 series that concluded Monday in Salt Lake City.
Weather played havoc on the SEC series between No. 3 Florida (29-2) and No. 5 Alabama (21-6). The Gators won a pitching duel between Lauren Haeger and Alexis Osorio, 1-0. Weather forced the series to conclude on Monday with a doubleheader in Tuscaloosa. It was the only game of the week for both programs.
No. 4 Michigan (28-4) enjoyed a 4-0 week launching 16 home runs and outscoring its opponents, 54-3, including a three-game Big Ten sweep at Ohio State (13-1, 13-1, 20-0). In the series finale against the Buckeyes, Wolverine head coach and NFCA Hall of Famer Carol Hutchens (’06) became just the third NCAA head coach to reach this milestone and is currently the second winningest active coach.
No. 6 Oklahoma (25-5) went 3-2 this week with wins over Iowa (14-0), Wichita State (10-0) and RV McNeese State (3-0). No. 7 Georgia (28-5) and No. 8 Auburn (32-2) both moved up one spot after 4-0 weeks, which included SEC sweeps of Arkansas (10-0, 12-4, 9-1) and then-No. 13 Kentucky (5-0, 9-7, 4-1), respectively.
Following a 5-1 week, Louisiana-Lafayette (25-4) dropped two spots to No. 9. The Ragin’ Cajuns swept a three-game non-conference series from Georgia Southern (8-2, 12-1, 9-0) and took two-of-three from Troy in a Sun Belt Conference battle (3-9, 6-3, 12-2).
Coming in the 10th spot is UCLA. The Bruins (29-5) return to the top 10 after a pair of Pac-12 road wins at then-No. 18 Washington (10-3, 8-4) to extend their winning streak to 15 games as of Sunday.
No. 24 South Alabama returns to the top 25 after a one-week hiatus, while No. 25 James Madison makes its first appearance of the season. The Jaguars (21-6) won four games last week, defeating Southern Mississippi, 9-1 and take all three from Appalachian State (6-1, 3-2, 8-0) in a Sun Belt series. The Dukes (22-6) have won 13 straight and 16 of their last 17 contests after sweeping Virginia (9-1, 10-2) in a doubleheader and going 3-0 in a neutral site CAA series against Towson (5-1/8, 4-3, 6-4).

Red-Hot Florida No. 1 For Second Straight Week in USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Riding a 15-game winning streak, Florida is the No. 1 team for the second straight week in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll, announced Tuesday by the Association.
The Gators (47-4) garnered all but three first-place votes, gathering a total of 29 and 797 points after picking up four wins over nationally-ranked squads. UF defeated in-state foe and then-No. 10 Florida State, 5-0 in a mid-week contest. They rolled into the weekend putting three SEC wins on the board against No. 25 Texas A&M (7-3 / 9-5 / 9-1). During their streak, the Gators are 10-0 against top-25 squads.
Oregon, which picked up the other three first-place votes and 771 points, swept a late season non-conference top-10 series from then No. 9 Louisiana Lafayette. The Ducks (41-5) completed their Pac-12 series sweep of Stanford on Monday with a 6-3 victory on The Farm and then hosted the Ragin’ Cajuns. Oregon defeated Louisiana convincingly in the first two games (8-0 / 10-2) before coming out on top in a 2-1 eight-inning nailbiter in the finale.
Michigan (730 points), Alabama (674 points) and Oklahoma (645 points) all shifted up one to complete the top-five. The Wolverines (45-6) took care of Big Ten business defeating Michigan State 4-3 and sweeping a league road series at Maryland in similar fashion as Oregon. They topped the Terrapins by eight runs in the first two games (8-0 / 10-2) and escaped with a 1-0 win in game three in College Park.
The Crimson Tide (38-11) went 3-1 turning back Troy 5-2 and taking two-of-three in SEC action against Tennessee (2-3 / 3-1 / 10-3), while the Sooners (42-7) posted a 4-1 week. OU trumped North Texas (6-3) to start the week and then went 3-1 in Big 12 road games. Following a 7-1 win at Oklahoma State, OUgrabbed the series from Kansas (2-4 in 8 inn. / 13-0 / 7-4) after dropping game one.
The reason for the shift in the top five was LSU suffering its first three-game losing streak of the season. The sixth-ranked Tigers (41-8) fell from No. 3 due to a 0-3 week in SEC play in which they dropped the series finale to Texas A&M (2-5) and the first two to then-No. 15 Missouri (2-7 / 2-10).
UCLA (40-8) and Auburn (44-8) remained at No. 7 and No. 8, while Florida State and Louisiana-Lafayette flip-flopped the final two spots in the top-10.
The Tigers (35-10), on a 10-game winning streak after Sunday’s win over LSU, moved up four more spots to No. 11 and have made a push of nine spots in just two weeks. Two programs moved up three positions in No. 16 Arizona (37-12) and No. 19 James Madison (40-6). The Dukes are Division I’s hottest team having won a school-record 31 games, last dropping a contest on March 8.
