All NBA players should be "punks" like Joakim Noah and the other finalists for this award: espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12885523/chicago-bulls-center-joakim-noah-wins-j-walter-kennedy-award-citizenshipAssociated Press CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah won the J. Walter Kennedy Award, given annually to an NBA player, coach or trainer for community service. The two-time All-Star was selected by the Pro Basketball Writers Association for his work with youth. His Noah's Arc Foundation recently launched the "Rock Your Drop: The Drop of Consciousness" anti-violence initiative, supporting those impacted by violence and encouraging youngsters to express themselves through sports and art. "I'm proud of everybody who's helped bring positive (things) to Chicago, helped the kids," Noah said. "My group has put in a lot of work to help. We still have a long ways to go. But it's only the beginning." The foundation recently produced a video featuring those who lost loved ones. Teammates Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson have contributed to the project. Last summer, Noah hosted a basketball tournament for young men from Chicago's south and west sides. Orlando's Tobias Harris, Detroit's Greg Monroe, Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul and Memphis' Zach Randolph were finalists for the award. Saw that yesterday and think it is awesome. Not sure what that has to do with his idiotic behavior between the lines, though.

Not sure what that has to do with his idiotic behavior between the lines, though. Because Noah is neither a punk on the court nor off the court. As I had already told you, punk is not an appropriate or accurate adjective to describe Joakim Noah. The fact that you persist with defending the punk comment on or off the court reflects your poor judgment of Noah's character. It not an agree to disagree situation. At best, you're uninformed to make a comment like that or you're fos at worst.

I've seen enough games to know that Joakim busts his ass between the lines and he expects his teammates to do so as well. He even played injured this season which has slowed him down somewhat. Demonstrative is an accurate adjective, not punk which carries such a negative meaning.

Your inability to look past your loyalty to all things UF is becoming the stuff of legends. I will admit that reading the articles about his work away from the game opened my eyes to side of him we don't normally get to see but on the court he is still one of the most classless players I have seen in some time. In other words, he is a punk.

Otherwise, you're fos as I stated. Of course, I'm loyal to UF. I'm not loyal to the Noah, the bulls, or the NBA in any way though. What a stupid thing to imply that loyalty to UF is something bad. Your bucknut clan is loyal to tOSU to a fault, but you don't see me making a stupid comments calling out your bucknut loyalties.

EVERYBODY plays injured. demonstrative? yeah, he is... but that doesn't go far enough. chirpin from the bench, chirpin on the court, high elbows, grabbing and holding, and that's all just in this series. last night, james got a foul called on him in the 1st qtr and while lining up along the lane for the ft noah starts clapping in his face. demonstrative. yeah, sure. another play late in the game, after the cavs had already stretched the lead to 20+, james is angling from the wing toward the basket and noah throws a hip check into him as he jumping toward the basket. very demonstrative. lol. like i said earlier, noah does a lot of the garbage work that doesn't get in the scorebook. he's not the first pro who goes over the line to get an edge on the court and get under the skin of the opposing team, and he won't be the last. but ignoring the punk moves he's known for making on the court (and that's not even counting the crap he's said about the cities of cleveland-now that lebron plays there-as well as miami when james was there) only shows you don't watch pro basketball. even a guy as 'informed' as you are.

A simple search of most hated or dirtiest players in the NBA will provide all the articles and opinions you could ever care to read. Unfortunately you won't do that because your opinion is the gospel and everyone else is wrong. Always.

You're so smart Mark about the NBA. That impresses me. I know it won't be any trouble for you back up your contention of Noah's play being punk by citing the unsportsman-like fouls, ejections, and any other stats to back up your well reasoned views.......

Dirty play to me is playing in such a way that can result in the injury to other players. Being demonstrative and ultra competitive isn't a crime or punk behavior or dirty. Where are the injured players, the excessive fouls, and the ejections?
