2018 Wisconsin running backs preview: Jonathan Taylor, Heisman candidate?Wisconsin’s backfield is loaded (yet again) and its leader is primed to be one of the nation’s best. What a start to a college career for Jonathan Taylor. As a freshman in 2017, Taylor came within 23 yards of 2,000 while earning all-conference honors and becoming a Doak Walker Award finalist. Emerging at the end of fall camp, Taylor’s performances ignited the Wisconsin offense with an explosive rushing attack. Now a sophomore, Taylor combined his physical attributes (strength, speed) with patience and maturity to become a consistent threat. Taylor may be the focus, but on paper, there is depth within the Wisconsin running back room that should help keep this position a strength on the team heading into what should be the most dynamic offense the Badgers have seen in recent years...................................................................... www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/4/17074874/wisconsin-football-2018-jonathan-taylor-bradrick-shaw-chris-james

2018 Wisconsin wide receivers preview: Badgers’ deepest, most talented group ever? These receivers could take UW’s passing attack to new heights. The future is now for the Wisconsin Badgers‘ wide receivers. Over the past two seasons, first and second-year players contributed significantly to the offense. In 2017, Quintez Cephus, A.J. Taylor, Kendric Pryor, and Danny Davis all emerged as viable targets in the passing game for quarterback Alex Hornibrook, forming a dynamic set of young receivers that is generating unprecedented buzz under the direction of position coach Ted Gilmore. With much of the offense returning—nine of the 11 regular starters, plus significant contributors—the ceiling is high, and a lot of that has to do with the deep and talented receiving corp............................. www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/5/17076842/wisconsin-football-2018-danny-davis-quintez-cephus-aj-taylor

2018 Wisconsin TEs/FBs preview: Badgers need to replace significant startersThese two position groups are always interesting for UW. With all the talk of how potent the Wisconsin Badgers’ offense could be during the 2018 season, Paul Chryst’s offense will have to replace two key contributors. Tight end Troy Fumagalli walked on and worked his way up to becoming one of the great tight ends in recent Wisconsin memory, leading the Badgers in receptions last season on the way to receiving All-American and all-conference honors. The versatile Austin Ramesh was quite possibly the most underrated member of Wisconsin’s offense. He could block (pancakes vs. Iowa). He could run (fullback dives on third downs). He could catch (#AirRamesh in the Orange Bowl)....................... www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/6/17083448/wisconsin-football-2018-alec-ingold-zander-neuville-kyle-penniston

2018 Wisconsin offensive line preview: The whole gang’s hereThe Badgers return all five starters in 2018, including three who turned down a chance at the NFL. ..................The Wisconsin Badgers return every single offensive lineman from the 2017 season, including seniors Michael Deiter and Beau Benzschawel, and redshirt junior David Edwards. Each spurned the NFL for one more year in Madison. An offense that returns nine of 11 starters from 2017 could be one of the more explosive in school history............. www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/7/17066038/wisconsin-football-2018-michael-deiter-jon-dietzen-beau-benzschawel

But on Defense..................2018 Wisconsin defensive line preview: Badgers must replace key contributorsUW’s defensive line will look considerably different in 2018. Almost the polar opposite of their counterparts in the trenches, the Badgers’ defensive line will be starting two fresh faces in 2018. The stalwart in the middle for the past three years, Sagapolu, will be entering his senior season and will anchor a defensive line that will need to catch up to speed quickly if the Badgers hope to replicate their defensive success of 2017.......................... www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/8/17070150/wisconsin-football-2018-defensive-line-olive-sagapolu-isaiahh-loudermilk-garrett-rand

2018 Wisconsin outside linebackers preview: More winds of change on defenseSome unproven faces will be asked to step up at outside linebacker opposite Andrew Van Ginkel. The Badgers will look to continue their trend of developing talented depth at the outside linebacker position that has been talent-rich since the switch to the 3-4 in 2013. Joe Schobert, Vince Biegel, T.J. Watt, Garret Dooley, and Leon Jacobs have all excelled and will be in the NFL on opening day this upcoming season. However, only one significant contributor from last year will be coming back, and on top of the transitional turnover, the position group is now under the direction of former NFL assistant coach Bobby April III................. www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/9/17073660/wisconsin-football-2018-outside-linebackers-andrew-van-ginkel-zack-baun

2018 Wisconsin inside linebackers preview: Big three return at deep positionThese guys are gonna be good. Again. With questions regarding who will step up in Jim Leonhard’s top-five defense heading into the 2018 season, at least one position group has the combination of experience and depth to help bridge the transition to this year’s team, which needs to replace seven of 11 starters from a year ago................ www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/10/17103752/wisconsin-football-2018-tj-edwards-ryan-connelly-chris-orr

2018 Wisconsin cornerbacks preview: Who will replace Nick Nelson, Derrick Tindal?Dontye Carriere-Williams and a few younger defensive backs will have an opportunity. With the loss of both starting corners heading into the 2018 season, Wisconsin will need to fill the two positions left by All-Big Ten cornerbacks Nick Nelson (consensus first-team) and Derrick Tindal (consensus honorable mention). The Badgers’ pass defense ranked fourth in the NCAA in 2017, with 160.6 yards allowed through the air per game. In order for Wisconsin’s defense to continue its prowess in the defensive passing lanes, young corners will need to step up and fill those starting spots................. www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/11/17093910/wisconsin-football-2018-dontye-carriere-williams-madison-cone

2018 Wisconsin special teams preview: Kickers are people too, you guysIt’s Gaglianone Time. You know what is cool? Dancing. You know what’s even cooler than that? Having a kicker that can dance after he hits monster field goals. My beautiful, bouncing, Brazilian, baby boy Rafael Gaglianone returns for his redshirt senior season, coming off his best year kicking the ol’ pigskin, and he is looking to dance all over the Big Ten like Fred damned Astaire. The Badgers lose nobody from last year’s successful kicking units and, as everyone knows, you Punt To Win in the B1G. It’s why Iowa is always hanging banners in football. Please, as always, don’t fact check this post for accuracy, Mike and Jake................ www.buckys5thquarter.com/2018/3/14/17086280/wisconsin-football-2018-rafael-gaglianone-anthony-lotti

The Offense, and Special Teams are NC/B1GC capable. We'll have to wait and see if the, recently, Nationally ranked, D develops.

How'd Dobbins do V Iowa in a 56-24 loss? Believe JT went for a 157 V Iowa, which Wisky won 38-14.

Well that I know about. Wisky coach, at the time, Anderson, a**hole supreme, may a hive of bees infest his colon, benched Flash Gordon for the second half in the first of two games w LSU, after he ran for over 100 yrds in the 1st half. Ended up losing a game Wisky dominated for almost 3 qtrs. And then there was a stellar game plan, which he gave to Tosu V Tosu, later that yr in Indy.
