tough loss if you're a cleveland fan, because this game was there for the taking. very entertaining game to watch. but golden state's bench outscored the cavs' by 34-9 or something like that. and cleveland's bench is already one player short with love out; if kyrie, who played fantastic but looked like he reinjured his knee in ot, can't go? lebron could toss in 44 every game and i don't think it would matter. smith and shumpert did not have good games, dellavenova was a non-factor. mozgof played decent, but you need more scoring options vs a team who can break out like the warriors. i could do without the post-shot posing (but what nba star doesn't do that these days?) but curry is fun to watch. the blank look on his face belies how quick and smooth he glides around the court, and his jump shot reminds me of the logo's. zeke from cabin creek used to not just get off his feet quickly on his jump shot, but shoot as he was getting to the top, making it that much tougher for a defender to react and affect his shot. curry's is the same, and his touch is fluid. impressive.
james was amazing. no nba star player gets more physical play against him, and i think that may be why he gets a little more leeway when he has the ball. he was outstanding, although in the 4th qtr i thought he settled on jump shots a little too much, including the shot at the end of regulation which would have won it. shumpert's desperation heave from the corner was SO close to going in. cavs were in position to steal this one. they defended gs about as well as you can, held them below 100 for 48 minutes. but they ran out of gas on offense in the ot. game 2 will be tougher imho for cleveland to win. we'll have to see what happens with irving.
