All the fuss about all the Royals on the All Star team and it appears Gordon is likely out. Guy runs into walls and gives up his body all the time and never seems to get hurt but it looks like his luck ran out tonight. Chasing a fly ball to the wall he suffered a strained groin and will likely be out at least a week and could by as much as two months. Going to have an MRI tonight and, as a Royals fan, I am hoping for a mild strain.

He had an MRI after the game last night. Yost said the trainers who first examined him didn't think the muscle was torn loose from the bone, which would be worst case. I love watching this guy play the OF and have seen him make some of the best catches I've ever seen. I sincerely hope it turns out to be a mild strain and he is only out a couple of weeks. He was just really heating up at the plate too, having seven hits in the doubleheader the day before.

It took some time for him to finally turn the corner at the ML level but since he has, he has been fun to watch. He may never hit the 30 or 40 HRs some were predicting but I will take .289/20/75 all day with the glove he has. Solid player.

Well, good news for Alex is no tear. It's a grade 2 strain and predicted to miss eight weeks. The better news, he is such a health freek, not sure if it's known outside KC fans circles, that it wouldn't surprise anyone if he was back in 4 to 6 weeks. This guy is literally chiseled. Hasnt' had junk food since he was something like eight years old and is a workout beast. Hoch, Luke Hochiver, his best friend on the club, was in the bullpen and said he was immediately concerned when Alex didn't get up because he always gets up. Just a hard nosed, tough old school kind of a player. I hate that if he doesn't get back early there is a decent chance we never see him in a KC uniform again. He has an option out this year and word is he wants to test the free agent market to find out his value. Hard to imagine the Royals without #4 in LF.
