Mexico I could see. 21,000,000 people and tacos al pastor to die for. Montreal wouldn't surprise me. They drew people to an exhibition but is their corp interest? I'm not sure they'd follow a bottom feeder. They have FB in the summer, eh. The rest not so much.

MLB exhibition games in Mexico City drew about 13,000. In Montreal about 40,000. But they ultimately didn't support a losing team north of the border. Mexican fans like futbol, aka soccer. Beezbol will not be very goot to theem.

They put on a good show with the 40K exhibition crowd and got people thinking they deserved a team, I guess. Unfortunately even when they were the best team in baseball in '94, the stadium was only half full at 22K. It's a hockey town, not a baseball town.

PERSONALLY speaking...baseball is an American game. If other countries want to play, that's fine, but MLB needs to keep up the fence, and go forward in the USA.

Certainly the Habs record in unparalleled by anyone in any sport. Just not lately. They are the Michigan FB of NHL 'Ockey.

lol. that's exactly what i thought of that quote too. if you look at mlb rosters, the fastest growing segment of players are from central/south america. my question would be how strong the support would be from a fan base that, in general, doesn't have the kind of middle class that the u.s. has. corporate support in those countries would be there, but who would buy enough game tix to sit above the box/luxury seats?

there was a movie once about the fantasy of a team on the north coast.... lol. all kidding aside, the pitching there is absolutely major league. the hitting is more aa ball. maybe.

i've said it before and i'll say it again... major league is an underrated, funny, good sports movie. just remember, when the situation calls for the sacrificing of a live chicken, that there's a kfc nearby to meet your needs. lol
