wife and kids takes it all now, and it is not as fun I enjoy the occasional wager, but to be honest, it is tough sledding to be successful long term with sports betting. To make money to cover the vigs, you probably need to win 60%ish of your bets? In 3 seasons of doing this, we have had maybe 2 players win at a high enough clip to actually be successful. Simply being a game or two over the waterline (read +4), isn't winning in Vegas. Granted, it is better than being -8.... |

Just pick opposite of who I pick and you will win. lost a lot of money back in the day placing "nickel and dime" bets on each game with the local bookie on football( college and NFL). Even paid for those betting services that you call in to get their "Pick of the Week", etc. There is no telling how much money I lost over a 2-3 year period. Heck, use to fly to Atlantic City for the weekend and get everything comped.....THOSE WERE THE DAYS...YOUNG AND DUMB AND A FOOL WITH MY MONEY !

Granted, it is better than being -8.... if every bet just had 10% juice, a 53% win rate keeps you above water. problem is, some bets are -115, or -120. or higher. for example, notre dame last week was +3, and i was on them, but financially it wasn't a good move because i only won $72 on a $100 bet. when you figure all that in, if you're at 57% you're not losing any money. |
