A 2-out 3-2 pitch in the 3rd from Danny Salazar sure did look like a strike to me. Ump saw it differently and the twins then got a triple ( that injured Michael Brantley as he dove for it) and 2 more hits for a 3 run inning that was enough. 3-1 loss. 5th straight game where Cleveland had a chance to get above .500 and then fell a game below. I believe Houston lost so the tribe didn't lose any ground, but it's way too late to tread water. 4 1/2 out w 13 to go. Indians absolutely must take the final 2 games of the Minnesota series.

Indians absolutely must take the final 2 games of the Minnesota series. well, it's going to take a miracle now. astros lost this afternoon... a win tonite would have put them within 3 1/2 games. but for the 2nd straight nite the bats were pretty silent. hughes outpitched kluber, who like salazar, had just one bad inning, the 4th, giving up 4 runs. tribe did nothing til lindor hit a 2 out double in the 9th and santana followed it up with a homer. 4-2 loss. 4 1/2 out w/12 to play. not impossible, but pretty improbable.

Tom Hamilton said it best "You cant win the world series in April but you can lose it"true. in april both brantley and gomes sat out significant time due to injuries, and the tribe could not get a 2-out rbi hit to save their lives. it did bury them, and made it much more difficult to stay in a playoff race. i really think francona has been a great get as manager. to their credit they have brought out the sticks so far tonite. 6-0 in the 4th. santana hit a 3-pointer, his 2nd hr in 2 nights. chisenhall got a 2-out 2 run single in the first. anderson has looked good early. and the clippers won their 3rd international league title in the last 6 years. the talent pipeline is there.
